I have a 44 in the back on my 05 sport. I am running 33's right now and eventually want 35's. Its not bad now but in town driving really blows! My gas mileage is horrible around 200 miles to a full tank. I was looking to regear to 4.11. It honestly doesn't really seem all that hard except for all the clearances. Do you guys think that these gears would do ok for 35's. I know they will be fine for 33's. I just dont want to blow money when I will have to change them in a year or so anyways. Also I plan on adding a detroit locker eventually, Im pretty sure I will need a new carrier since I have that gay trac-lok system from the factory. Just figured id ask as not to waste time. Thanks guys!

You will hate them with 35's.
What transmission do you have? Auto manual?

What tranny do you have? Over all 4.56 for 35s works well for a dd. Trail rig you might want 4.88's, but again a lot depends on the tranny. Also find a shop to install the gears, that will let you see how its done, if it was easy everyone would do it. As for the detroit, it replaces your carrier so no worries there.. I however would look into a selectable locker as it will be far better, cause less wear on the axle and increase tire life.

I have an 05 comes with a 6spd manual tranny. Ya I know the locker replaces the carrier. The thing is I have 33's right now 35's will be in a few years probably so I should of said gears for 33's. Getting the wheels to move takes alot more effort on part of the engine. Im guessing when you say i will hate 4.11's with 35's it will be for the same reason? I am not crawling or anything just mud holes and trails! Just to make sure I have it right to when the gearing is smaller it takes more revolutions of the engine to move the tires? and bigger gearing it takes the engine less revolutions to move the tires? So would you guys recommend 4.56 with 33's? That seems kinda extreme to me. But thats why im askin! Ive been looking at quadratecs gearing chart but just figured id get some real experience. Thanks for the input
