Name that car!!!
Here's the rules:
-A user will post a picture of a vehicle (cars and trucks)
-Vehicle must be REAL (working concepts count).
-The other users have to guess the Year, Make, and Model of the vehicle.
-The poster of the vehicle may give as many pictures as he wants.
-Clues can be given if the poster chooses to.
-The poster of the vehicle may give away the answer at will.
-The poster may only edit the picture(s) by erasing the emblems on the vehicle to help hide it's identity if he/she chooses to.
- The first user to guess the vehicle correctly gets to post the next vehicle.

Remember, users can be sneaky, so remember to host your images and change the file name!

Here's the first one...

Looks like a 1970 Toyota Celica... Not sure if it's a GT though.

AzTJ 12-29-2009 12:25 AM

Yes sir! It is a GT, I just 'chopped the emblems out. :D

Your turn!

Here's car #2:

AzTJ 12-29-2009 12:29 AM

Gas lid is on the right, so I'm guessing it's RHD... and those wheels look like they are 12". lol

ccain 12-29-2009 12:43 AM

Yes. This vehicle is right hand drive but, they were sold here in the states in the left hand drive version. And yeah, those wheels are tiny. :D

cavediverjc 12-29-2009 01:00 AM

It sure is an ugly little thing. It's gotta be the Prius Concept Car? :D

birdhunter 12-29-2009 03:21 AM

Fiat 128

ms04sahara 12-29-2009 06:03 AM

looks like a simca.

jgano23 12-29-2009 07:44 AM

my guess is a peugeot 404

csamn2007 12-29-2009 09:14 AM

Is it a Death Trap by any chance? Really looks like one.

Coyote_94YJ 12-29-2009 10:25 AM

Looks like it is from the BMC family. I don't think it's Peugeot or Fiat.

ccain 12-29-2009 10:41 AM

Nope. Not a Fiat or Peugeot. Keep guessing.

Here's some hints. It's German, it has ties with GM and they are rarely seen on the roads in the US today even-though in the 1960's it was considered the #2 selling import in America.

Very Close! Keep guessing!

stevens243 12-29-2009 10:49 AM

It looks like an Opal. Couldn't tell you the year unless I could see the head/tail lights. About a 60-62.

1964 Opel Kadett.

You're turn Geoff!

BestopTeam@Bestop 12-29-2009 10:54 AM

Did you see this week's top Gear with the trip through South America? Classic! No Jeeps - they used a Suzuki, a FJ40 and a LandRover. But fantastic episode.

I'm looking for cars now.

Oh, Cain sent me a private message with the correct answer, but he wants to let someone else show off their immense knowledge of useless car trivia.

This is from - a fantastic site for people into old interesting cars.

This 1970 Meyers Manx SR was a rare factory built version of the kit car and it was originally sold to Malcolm Bricklin, well known for making his own brand of coupes. It has been fully restored and has a canvas targa top. Find it here on eBay in Upland, California.

1970 Meyers Manx SR Coupe Rear

The rear view of this car actually looks pretty cool. Are those Volvo P1800 taillights? Check out this SR Photo page which shows many others for comparison. There were several iterations of the headlight design, none of whicl looked very good.

1970 Meyers Manx SR Coupe

The slotted aluminum alloys are the perfect match and also look good on the buggies. The interior looks a bit modern but is very thoroughly finished. Tan cloth makes more sense than vinyl or leather would.

1970 Meyers Manx SR Coupe

The Manx buggies are classics that only make sense in certain locales, but does this SR have the same legitimacy? This one is a little odd, but the Bricklin ownership connection is cool and with the restoration work already done it is totally turn-key. More will hate it than will love it, but we bet this car will find an owner pretty quickly.
