My new in-dash winch control
so here is what i did today
i cut an electric extension cord (about 25') (free)
as it is already insolated and clumped together in one handy package
i bought a momentary toggle switch (heavy duty from Radio Shack ($3.90)
hooked the wires to the 3 leads on my winch solenoid
then ran them to the toggle switch, but only the "in" and "out"
as i ran the power to a switch I already had waiting for (about a year now) in my dash and it all works great ($5) I had installed it about a year ago
the switch that was in my dash also has a red light that lights when the winch is powered up and the in and out (momentary toggle) is also a heavy duty switch
so for a total of $8.90 I got me an in dash winch control
here are pics...
looks pretty slick!
Improvise! Adapt! Overcome!!! (and with a winch, having the ability to use it in a nice warm cab without your arm dangling out the window in 20 degree weather rocks!) :) I like how you used the factory switch locations. Cleans it up a bit!
