Retractable holder

I got, as a Christmas present, a Midland handheld CB radio (Alan 72 - the equivalent of Midland 75-822) and I am thinking of buying a retractable mic holder (like the ones made by Gear Keeper). Does anyone use something like that, in his Wrangler, for the CB microphone (the radio is just slightly larger than a standard mic so I imagine that a stronger holder, the RT3 for instance, could work for it)?
I was thinking of fixing it to the upper loop (that secures the windshield to teh bonnet, when folded) but I have some doubts due to the relatively small distance to the dashboard - I am afraid that it would either hit the dashboard all the time or swing into the windshield, especially on the trail).

Since I've got no answer, I will try to reformulate my question (I think I should better have posted it in "Where did you mount your CB Radio?" - maybe the moderators could move the topic?).
Where/how do you suggest to attach my handheld CB? As I previoulsy said, I was thinking of attaching it to the loop on the windshield by the help of a retractable mic holder, in order not to have it in my way, but have it close, when I would need it. The only thing is that I don't have any ideea about these mic holders: are they big, or not, are they useful or not in a Jeep (I am sure that in a truck, they will do their job, but a truck's cab is far more spacious than TJ's cockpit). On the other hand I was thinking of just fixing a hook on the dashboard, but I am not very happy with drilling holes in the dash (for the screws).
If anyone has a handheld unit and could give me some advice, it would be highly appreciated.
Thanks.

Cool Tec has a mic mount that mounts to the dash on the right side of the dash.
This might be what your looking for.
Cool Tech LLC. JK VersaMount
Hope this helps.

Yes and no. This is for a JK and I have a TJ.
Thanks.

Do you really want 13+ ounces swinging around and hitting the windshield or your face. That Cool Tech mount should be adaptable or fabricate something simular. Your other option would be to buy the headset for the radio.

I don't know... This is why I was asking. I've seen it only in some pictures and I had some doubts about it (what you said - that it will swing around). If I was sure about the efficiency ot this holder I would have bought it directly, without asking any questions.
I will try to think at something else (similar to the Cool Tech holder).
Thanks

Rhetorical question. If you are bouncing around on the trail that will be swinging wildly. Besides hitting thinks, it will just be annoying. Anchor it, it's much safer.

I think that I've solved it. Attached a hook (that is used to hang the picture frames on the wall) to the radio and hooked the radio on the loop on the windshield. I will try to post some pictures, maybe tomorrow.

So far, so good. On the road, it's a good position. Let's see if it stays well where I put it, when wheeling.

Here are the pics:
