I am looking for some recommendations for lights and mounts to go onto my lower windshield. Please be very specific on make/model/etc.
- Must be LED
- I assume in this location that a spot beam would be best. Thoughts?
- Got to be something that doesn't break the bank. If you recommend the top dog, is there a sale ? Otherwise, need to be as economical yet aesthetically pleasing as possible.

No real help as I don't run any leds. But in lighting as with most things, economical does not mean quality. Either way, you are dropping a chunk of change, so if it meant spending an extra $300 now to have lights that still work in 6 years, I would do it. I saw the brand "Lazer" mentioned by one poster as a high quality brand. Don't know anything more...
I found a couple of deals. Didn't want to post price since they were quoted to me (didn't know if it was okay or not), but you can see the price difference for the different manu. products.
- Inspired Engineering 4LED cube 8* spot with bracket (rough country) for $X.xx
- Rigid Dually spot with their basic mount for $X.xx plus about $30
- Inspired Engineering 6LED cube 25* spot with bracket (rough country) for $X.xx plus about $25
Here is a great option for you. The Lifetime LED Spot Lights and Smittybilt A-pillar Light Mounts. I really like those mounts. They are really minimalist but work well and look great IMO. I like the Lifetime LED brand because they are cheaper than Rigid but share a lot of the style ques. They have the same warranty as well!
I would definitely go spots for that location. You don't want to scatter light all over the hood.
I'll PM you over our 6% forums discount code now. Let me know if you have any other questions!
I have the Rigid Dually Spots and their bracket. I am happy with the hole set up. You do get some reflection/light off the hood, but its not that big a deal.
I've been looking at getting a set of led spots on the windshield as well, so this is a timely thread. My issue is that I hate the square lights... Does anyone make a round version? Square just doesn't look right on the jk (maybe on a YJ haha).
I have the Rigid Duelly's (spot) with the rugged ridge windshield mounts. I love them.. They light up the hood a touch but not bad, and they are small enough that most people dont notice them.
Went to the rugged ridge mounts becuase they have the rubber gasket to protect the paint... Works well...
Is it just me or does it look like the Rigid and Inspired Engineering light covers are the same? In other words, if I got Inspired Engineering cubes and wanted something other than the black or amber cover they offer, I could order some covers from Rigid.
Also, I assume I will need to order their respective wire harness as well if I want to utilize their connections (Deutsch type)from light to wire running to sPod?
