New Mexico Roll Call

Hi,

New to the board and I'm wondering if anyone checks these local threads and ever considers getting together?

Now I'm not much for outdoor fun when it's cold out, but summer is just around the corner. I'm interested in trying to set up rides and the like.

Anyone interested?

Wow, over 100 views and no one replies.

PecosRiver 05-04-2010 08:10 AM

Hey, where are you located? I’m between Santa Fe and Las Vegas.

jskinn27 05-04-2010 12:43 PM

im in albuquerque. shoot me a pm and maybe we could hit some trails? im looking for some ppl to go with lol

babiehughie 05-10-2010 09:44 AM

Newb here. I'm in White Rock (30 miles west of Santa Fe). Looking for some good trails and people to run them with.

PecosRiver 05-11-2010 08:27 AM

Great! I have some trails here and while I have driven them alone, I prefer company. One goes to an old mine and another goes to an old fort. There are other trails, but they have no fun stuff at the end to explore.

We have a couple that I've done - one that goes to Cochiti lake and another that goes to St. Peters Dome. I've done both and they do have some pretty views, but can be done in any high clearance vehicle in 2wd. Looking for some challenges.

jskinn27 06-16-2010 12:48 PM

im also looking for people to roll with, just in case something happens. would also like a bit of a challenge

NMVJC (now nmoffroad.com) is the forum of choice, generally speaking. I went on a few outings with them.

SF area jeep club

Just came across your post. A friend and I went out this summer exploring the Pecos until my gas tank was punctured. I'd like to get a group together to do things summer and winter. From what I've read there's a jeep club in the area but I haven't seen any proof. I guess it starts with one then another and so on. I'm in SF and my friend is too. Let's get something started.

I am in albuquerque and just picked up a rubicon.. I have had XJs my whole life, still have one, but there are a few of us that go wheeling every once and a while.

Rio rancho here!

Ive been on some sweet rails with my fourwheeler but havent had a chance to beat the he** out of my sons jeep yet.

I do Search and Rescue for NMSP on my days off so Im pretty familiar to alot of the 4x4 trails in the state.

Hey. Newbe here. Im in albuquerque. i know this question has been posted be for but I wanted to know what you locals think. i've grown up around jeeps my whole life grandpa, dad, and uncle all got early CJ-5's and im lookin to buy my first jeep (now for my question) what should i get? (im 19) A YJ or TJ?

Mudd bath 02-15-2011 04:33 PM

Everyone has there own preference. It all depends on how much you want to spend.

Darkfire 02-16-2011 12:12 AM

Also what do you want to do with it. Daily driver, off road, rock climb, get drunk with your friends and roll it etc.

if you have been around jeeps then the main diff between Y & T is the head lights and newer model. if you shop, you can buy a nice already decked out TJ for the same price as a comparable YJ.

Just my 2 cents

Mudd bath 02-16-2011 12:20 AM

Get drunk and roll it.lol. Very true

Hi all,
I'm in albq myself, the best trails I've been on are up in Red River thats a community thats really open to jeepers and the trails are rated so anyone can hit them just stay in your shoes or you can get into trouble. The 4th of july canyon trail up there caused me to buy my winch lol .....good times.

Brodtz 02-19-2011 10:10 PM

Hey, I'm in abq! And me and friends either go to jenez or out in the rio puerco!

Hello NM! Trail planning assistance please

Several of my Texas wheeling buddies are planning a trip to The Rubicon Trail in Sept. We would appreciate some feed back on good riding trails in your state along the way.

Also want you all to know that a new area in southwest Texas is needing some volunteer trail building support. Escondido Draw Recreation Area, owned by Texas nonprofit is located about 30 miles SW of Ozona, Tx. Check out www.TMTC.net (forum) or www.texasmotorizedtrails.com

I'm new in Belen. Not sure where to go wheelin' around here.
