Roll Bar Removal...torx bit question

I did a search and couldn't find what I'm looking for. I'm removing the roll bar on my the 98 Wrangler I just bought (to Herculine the inside). Everything is a normal Torx bit except one bolt on each side. It's a torx bit with the post in the middle. I need to go buy the bit somewhere. Does anyone know the size? I tried to guesstimate it, but it's hard to tell. Anyone know? Thanks

Well I think I found it on google....

#50 tamperproof Torx bolt

Ya could just drill or punch out the post and use a standard Torx

X2, just use a small punch or screwdriver & hammer to snap the pin off from the side. I did this to mine when I was installing a cage and the pin snapped off pretty easily. I would not drill it out.

You can get that torx bit at Sears. That's what i did.

...and they call them tamperproof?

Yep. Meant to make it harder for thieves to steal your stuff. Sears has a great assortment of them. :) Ironically they are also one of the more shoplifted sockets...

Never thought to try and snap off the post. Instead, I drove around Wichita for about 2.5 hours trying to find a set of tamperproof bits. I ended up finding them at Harbor Freight. I busted two of the normal bits trying to get all the bolts out of the roll bar and ended up stripping one. Those damn things did not want to let go.

I just replace those stupid security torx.

I used vice grips to remove the OEM bolts (the center posts wouldn't break off) and used new torx bolts to replace them.

For some reason, security torx are used in nearly every public bathroom I've ever been it to hold the partitions up. I don't know why. Stupid trivia for anyone that cares.
