What issues is the carter giving you, or what do you hope to gain from the new carb?

not many issues, needs a rebuild I think thats about it. but we just want more performance.

Clean the inside of metering tubes or pickup tubes cant recall what they are called.. Makes a big difference if you have not done that. I looked into the holley avenger ones, but $$$.

guess I'll have to do that...

I've been through an Edelbrock, not too proud of the Holley I have now, but have heard good things about Rochester Quadrajets...anyone viewing had success with one?

Damn, you sound like me except the order is different. I had a Quadrajunk, then a Holly and the Edlebrock I have has been the best so far. The Qjet is a good carb. They can give you good power and economy if you get one set up right. I think one key is to get one off a engine of similar displacement so that the set up is close to start with. Good luck.

2100 is easier to tune.

I have a 4-barrle Edelbrock on my 304 and i am a fan of it, i think it is a pretty good carb and i am happy with my performance and im content enough with my mpgs... well they suck but thats standard and i dont think it hurt them any
