Cruise control ???
 
Has anyone had any issues with their cruise?

Curious if anyone else has experienced this.
Occasionally when driving freeway speeds my cruise will cut out. Seems to happen more while
Going up hill or cornering.

2013 JKUR also. Never had an issue. Possible flash update needed maybe?

Is this happening on a long steep grade? I have had a couple of cars that would suddenly cut the cruise if it has been giving at/near full throttle for more than 30 seconds or so. I think it is a fail-safe mechanism, like the engineers think if the cruise has given high throttle for awhile something must be wrong.

I haven't had a chance to get my Jeep onto I-70 west of Denver yet, but a couple of my cars will cut the cruise there. Annoying as hell, and dangerous, IMHO.

I've had cars do that too. If the hill was very steep, and the engine was working at or near full throttle for an extended period of time ~30 seconds or so, cruise control would disengage. I found locking the car out of OD would help stop this many times.

Mine has cut off after hitting a decent sized bump on the highway, I figured its designed to do that if you have an accident

Yes. I also think is Is very dangerous. It causes the jeep to "jump" (May be the wrong word...) but scares the hell out of my wife.

The fact that the cruise is cutting out while cornering makes me wonder if it's a short in the steering wheel.
Looks as though you have lots of warranty left to get to the bottom of this. I would be curious to know what the dealership says.

I have the 6 speed.

Thanks for the responses. I have not driven the jeep in a long time an keep forgetting to ask about it.

Try taking that hill in 5th gear with the CC on and see what happens.

i have a '13 JKUR, 6spd man, and my cruise will drop on uphills occasionally. Kinda frustrating. Happens in different gears too. I assume it is caused by the cruise needing more throttle than the computer wants to allow, but I do plan to ask my dealer about it the next time I'm in there.

Im definitely curious about the actual cause/cure if anyone has had this diagnosed and corrected.

I believe that steering wheel angle vs lateral acceleration is monitored by the ESP system and can cause the CC to disengage. And I wouldnt be surprised if there are other items being monitored that could have the same affect.
