Man, we have 18 inches of snow and counting. The beach is a happy thought right now.

Thanks for the pics.

nice jeep dude!

wasurfer86 02-06-2010 03:45 PM

thanks. the only things i have added on are the front bumper and i put a grill cover on. i kinda wish i bought it stock so i could have picked everything out myself. im still trying to figure out what else i wanna do to it. that was the first time i went wheeling so i was kinda hesitant on what i tried, plus i was by myself so if i got in trouble i was sol

APPSTATEwrangler 02-06-2010 04:48 PM

yeah when you wheel on the beach all you have to worry about is the wet sand thats close to the water. Most of the time wet sand will be hard as a rock, but, if it is near the water then there is a good chance that there is water under the sand as well makin it like quick sand. thats where the trouble starts. but wheelin on the beach beats the rocks and forests any day IMO.

can you drive down the beach?

turdhurdler 02-06-2010 11:45 PM

Man, the closest we can get to the beach around here is the parking lot. You are lucky to have a place like that to play on and advance your skills.

at the beach i went to its ok to drive on it but most beaches its not legal. its only about a mile long stretch thats drivable, the other 10 miles is off limits to any motor vehicle. i think most of Oregon's beaches are open to motor vehicles so i might have to make a trip down south and camp out during the summer. plus oregons beaches are a lot more like sand dunes.

you all need to head to the east coast to the Outer Banks. that is some good beach driving right thurr

bugman1964 03-03-2010 10:15 AM

surprised your allowed to drive on the dunes. Usually they will let ya drive on the beach but flip if ya drive on the dunes.

i saw the coast guard or state police out there and nobody said anything to me. its a pretty small town there and its not like the beach is crowded in the winter time. summer time i think they would have flipped out

my first thought when i looked at the pictures was "so much for tread lightly!" but i've never driven on a beach, don't know what the general rules are regarding where you can and can't drive.

p.s. nice looking jeep btw

as long as he is not throwin the grass everywhere than the dunes will be ok.
the wind and waves will do more damage than any wrangler can cause.

wasurfer86 03-07-2010 01:34 PM

i didnt tear anything up, plus sea grass is pretty much indestructible.

APPSTATEwrangler 03-07-2010 04:46 PM

yeah pretty much. and because of the grass, dunes are pretty indestructible as well.

just respect the beach rules, over here on the outer banks (coast of NC), they close beaches because of wildlife hatching or mating or whatever, and they tell people not to drive where this is happening. but people still do and it pisses the authorities off and they keep the beaches closed for longer because of these idiots who cannot respect the wildlife and laws.
