Worst. Job. Ever.

I worked in a fiberglass factory on maintenance. They liked to stick me in the ductwork on the roof because I fit really well. Required an oxygen tank.

I wanna hear it. What was your worst job?

khenderson 12-13-2006 07:06 PM

making corn have sex with itself. no....really.

worked in a corn field in indy. self-pollinating the corn for the research plant there.

hooray for 115 degrees, cuts cause by corn leaves and then having pollen get all up in them! YEAH!

amerijeep 12-13-2006 07:10 PM

Never had a really bad one, but I've worked for some sorry people.

amy 12-13-2006 07:27 PM

I would have to say working in a plastics factory running an injection mold and sonic welder, on the graveyard shift.

bluvikng 12-13-2006 07:29 PM

I have a snippy comment, but I don't want you to think I'm picking on you. ;)

Being stuck. In a Submarine. With 180 other guys. Reading the same gauges, in the same engine room, with the same reading, for 12 hours a day, for three months at a time. Make it stop/having flashbacks/hiding in a corner, AAAUUUUGGGHHHH.

Do you have a gauge mark imprinted on your forehead from sleeping against it?

That's sucks. I think I'd rather have khendersons old job. :D

Odhinn 12-14-2006 05:22 AM

Working on the docks of the Mississippi shoveling out fertilizer, cement, and scrap barges. The fertilizer barges were so toxic we were only allowed in them for 15 minutes at a time. Cement barges, I ended up being caked in ever spot with cement. The scrap barges, I ran the risk of getting stabbed by a rusty peice of metal every time I entered. We also had to dodge a bucket crane that was picking up the large piles and a Bobcat that was rummage around in there also.

I too have not had a truly bad job, I guess it comes from a positive outlook. I have worked for some pretty nasty people though. I used to do all of the furniture procurement for Adelphia and the owners wife that I worked for lived in her own little world where nobody else mattered.

I was thinkin' the same thing Amy.

Mike, you ain't smelled nothing 'til you dipped into a vat of my clay after it's been fermenting a few months with a couple of guinnesses mixed into it.

Mike001 12-14-2006 02:16 PM

you make your own stout?

Mike001 12-14-2006 02:17 PM

no other smells really bother me, just baby crap I hate it.

tiny terror 12-14-2006 02:18 PM

No, I mix guinness into my clay to make the workablity better. It speeds of the growth of bacteria. You need a tetanus shot to work with my clay.

Mike001 12-14-2006 02:20 PM

You mean to make pots or something?
