Replacement Interior

What would be the best way of getting a replacement interior? I mean everything(dash, door panels, seats, carpet). DOn't say the dealership because they are outta the question up here. My TJ is a '97 Bright Jade with "spice" interior and I think they clash too much. Was thinking of going with a black interior.... BTW anyone wanna swap my tan hardtop for a black one? :o

What about a junk yard? That would probably be the best and cheapest way to get the parts you need.

^ probly, but there isn't one with in 70 miles of me. :(

Well for the savings it might be worth the drive. The only other than I can think of is sit down and search the ol' world wide web. Maybe Ebay or something like that? You could also piece it together over time with new parts.

BTW - what's wrong with the interior?

OR!! You could always take your girl, pack a lunch, some wine and cheese and have a nice romantic picnic at the junkyard? :D J/K

lol :D - Nothing is really wrong with the interior. There are the typical scratches on the door pannels, but there are some cracks on the pass side pannel. Maybe its just me, but I think the colors look odd together. I'm gonna go for a drive this weekend and take some pics.

Check the yellow pages or even ask your local car dealer. There are MANY companies out there than can repair scratches in the door panels and even fix cracks. All used car dealers have this done to their cars before they go on the lot and most people never have a clue what it looked like before.

I seen and had it done myself. I had a hole drilled in the console of a car I had for a button on a rear seat dvd system. We had the system taken out and it left a dime size hole. Called up a guy who did some work for a local dealer, he came out and fixed it and I would bet you $ 1,000 that you wouldn't be able to find where that hole once was. If they can do that they can fix any scratches you have.

You could always go the "spray" route. They make special epoxy paints just for plastics, that matah the expansion and contraction rates, unlike standard spray paint that will crack and peel shortly after application. My dad used the first gen. of this type of paint over 20 years ago (the new paints are much better) in a recolor on a chevy pickup, did the dash pad, the door panels and any other plastics and and went from orca yellow to dark blue. Same color to this day, with some very minor chips. As long as you properly prepare the surface to be painted, and use the proper product, it will last. Costs a lot less too. I would have the panel repaired and then respray. Could be done in any color you want then, too. Just a thought.

Saw an entire dash assembly on Ebay yesterday. Was grey, but the parts stores usually carry the interior spray paint that moneypit mentioned. The stuff actually works pretty good too.

Try giving Nacho at AMC 4x4 Salvage a call down here in the valley. They only deal in Jeep parts and have quite a few dashes and such hanging around their place. Might be worth your while to make a trip down here some saturday if they have what you are looking for.

Well they are open on Monday's I know for sure. I'd still say they are going to be the best place for what you are looking for. There's another jeep salvage place in Tempe, but I don't know the name of it.
