Will be in Avon N.C. outer banks in September for a week. Anyone in that area? Know better than to wheel alone:)

I had been up since Tue @noon after doing 3 tens and 3 twelves. I went to work on Tue night for my last 10 hr shift expecting to get home, sleep and get up in time to see a really great game. However the weather was too nice and I put the top down on the way home. Ended up staying up all day cruising around just hoping to stay awake long enough to watch the game. Fell out at 8 pm and missed the game! From the highlight reels I guess that was not such a bad choice! We still got at least 1 more game before March Madness.....:D

mudaddy 02-14-2008 09:58 PM

Well I am heading back to the coast, sunset beach to be exact. Anyone in sunset or close to it?

What's up? Hey from Fayetteville.

XNeoJesterX 03-13-2008 10:49 AM

Hey, my names Phil. I live in Ohio but my mom lives in Sanford right next to Fayettenam (lol). She is stationed at Fort Brag but is currently in Iraq. I visited fequently and would always like to get in on some offroading when I'm down there.

tarheel 03-14-2008 07:07 PM

I am originally from Fayetteville. Have relatives in Spring Lake (armpit of Bragg!) as well as Sanford. Let me know if anything gets planned for the sandy hills:D

Hey Tarheel,

You need to put down that computer and get out of the house a little more, it's on NC 226 about 5 miles south of the NC/TN state line. :wavey:

Regards,
Richard

Hey, I am from Cary. Just got my Wrangler about a month and a half ago. Not really sure where nearby to go riding.

Unless you know of or have some private land, there's not much in this area not covered by asphalt. Uwharre National Forest has about 16 miles of trails from beginner to serious rock crawling. I just went in Oct for my first time with JOEL from webwheeling.com and he was able to talk me through 4-5 of the trails in a stock jeep. It will definitely make you want more from your Jeep. BTW welcome to the forum.
Glenn

Uwharrie is the closest public legal trail system I can think of. We will be out there Dec 12th for our annual end of year run if anyone wants to wheel. :)

Taznc 10-30-2008 12:10 PM

Ah, yeah. I drove near Greenville to my friend's property and did a little off-roading. It was nothing serious though. I want to get some new new tires, still researching that. After that, I would definitely like to get into more stuff.

tarheel 10-30-2008 04:41 PM

I work 7on 7off. Let me know if you want to go sometime. I am working on trying to get a lift. I have wheels picked out. Just need to order. Just sold my suburban and hopefully will use some of that cash to start building up. Joel really got me psyched at UNF and I would like to go back lifted:cool:
