Howdy fellas, good to see some Iowans poking around here also! :punk:

tucker 11-30-2008 09:17 PM

You guys know of any good trails in iowa?

roadsuk 12-02-2008 11:48 AM

Unless you know someone with some private land to wheel on you will need to join a club. The two I know of are jocci.com and miobi.org and they have some private land they play on. Miobi does do a few "open to the public" events every year so if you go to their site it has all the info you need. There are a few other clubs in Iowa but I don't know about land to wheel on with them.

Hey nice looking Jeep! I'm partial to red Jeeps. :) Check out jocci.com if you haven't already, great bunch of folks and they have some private land they wheel on once or twice a month.

McGridDLe 05-05-2010 11:17 AM

I am a touch north of Des Moines in Polk City and the club is based out of Des Moines and has monthly meetings off of 86th in Johnston. We actually meet at the McDonalds on University by Altoona when we go on club runs to the "Farm" east of Des Moines. There is a photo gallery on the forum if you ever want to see any pics of the place. My avatar is from the Farm actually. It's a privately owned old strip mine that is fun to play on. Hopefully see ya there someday! :wavey:

yea I would love to come out.. I was just reading up on it and I'm all for supporting the club, but I have so many other things to pay for right now that it's not really a possibility. And do they actually require you to have a CB to wheel there? by the way thanks for the invite!

Anytime! Jocci will be around a while so if you ever want to join they will be happy to have you. I didn't think a cb is actually required, it just makes it easier to know what is going on while you are there playing around. I'll have to look into that but some people have handhelds that work just as good. There is also another club called miobi(miobi.com) that does open events a couple times a year if you ever wanted to go to their land and play. They have something coming up for memorial weekend now that I think about it. I haven't been there yet but I plan to when I get some free time.

McGridDLe 05-08-2010 01:29 PM

yea it sounds like a blast.. I haven't really had the chance to get off road in the three months that I've owned my jeep, becuase around here it seems like you either have to know someone with land or join a club lol.. but yea both of those sound great i'll def look into it. you live pretty close to saylorville then? or is that even close? lol, i don't know polk city very well.

roadsuk 05-09-2010 09:19 PM

Yep, Polk City is right beside Saylorville Lake. Nice little town for what it is I suppose. :)

McGridDLe 05-10-2010 03:50 PM

Yea, I have only been through there like twice and ended up getting a ticket once for doing 5 over.. they are apparently pretty strict on speeding up there lol

firehawk_1989 05-28-2010 11:39 PM
