This may be a real stupid question, and very well is since I see topics on CB/Ham on this board...
Do a lot of ppl still do this? I was REAL big into CB back in the day and still have my old set up. Cobra sideband, mod. mic. liniar etc. It faded back then with cell phones...is it back? Or always remained popular?

CBs are good for trails.. That's why most jeepers have CBs is for trail use

We all had CB radios back in high school to let everyone know where the cops were hiding and some street racing and woods-party action. It's pretty hilarious to see a Cougar with a 2 ft. antenna off the trunk.

Now, I really don't know a ton of a people who still use them except for possibly trail use.

I have a CB also, it works ok for trail use. Now the HAM is a HUGE difference in range and clarity, it doesnt work off of line of site like a CB. its more of a circumfrance range. when i do desert runs we often get really spread out due to dust and were going anywhere from 20 to 60mph. also when going fast the guy out front calls out the hazards and when someone crashes or gets a flat or something. I decided to put it in the glove box when i realized i had nothing but trash in there.
I also have the Ham and cb wired into my headset setup which makes it really easy to hear and understand whats goin on.
