Rim size question

So I'm going to be purchasing a set of 33's for my YJ and was wondering if 15x7 rims will be fine. I got the set of soft 8's as a gift, and I'd hate to stop using them. Plus, I really like them. I've run 33's on my TJ with 15x8 rims, but never 15x7. I'm already aware I'll probably need spacers, but I'm just wondering if any of you guys have run on this size rim with 33's.

Depends on what the backspacing is on the 7" rim if you need spacers or not. Whether the tire will fit depends on how wide a tire you want to put on. I wouldn't go wider than 10.5". But others opinions may vary.

They have 4" backspacing. I'm thinkin' 33's will rub without a 3" backspace.

bump...hate to do this but I'm ordering them soon. don't wanna spend that much and mess up.

conventional wisdom holds that if you are gonna be going to 33x12.50's you should have 8 inch wide wheels, with 3.75 - 4 inches of backspacing.

might could get away with a 33x10.50 on a 7 inch wide wheel, but i'm not entirely sure.

4" bs is fine for 33x12.5's but yeah, you want an 8" rim for 12.5's. I should qualify my posts with the statement that what I've said applies to TJ's. YJ's maybe different.

exactly. if you're going to run 12.5" wide 33's then you'll need an 8" rim, 10.5" 33's and the 7's should be ok
