question about back up lights?

i will be getting some bada$$ 4" round trailer lights with stop and turn on them. my ? is can i wire some cheap off road lights to the back up wire on both sides? i plan on mounting them on the bumper but was not sure if that would work or not. if not oh well i wont have back up lights

If they are above 35watts each you need to think about running a power wire directly from the battery. Use a relay that is activated by the reverse light wire that is already there. If you don't you run the risk of burning out that wire "somewhere" and possible taking others with it, or even a fire.

I did the same thing. Running power wires in a Jeep was so simple. There are more than three large rubber plugs in the firewall. Just drill a small whole in one and shove your power wire in it, and then run it to the back along the driver side with the wire bundle that is already there.

Oh, and I got that light in a pair but ended up only using one as my tire carrier doesn't allow for mounting them on the top of the bumper on one side. You either have to have two symmetrical or one in the center. So if you want just one light I have it. just pay the 4-5 buck shipping and it can be yours. Here is the link to what I got.

Oh and just a word of caution. Make sure to check what size hole your lights will fit into. I mistakenly got a 4 1/4" hole saw and it called for a 4 1/2" hole. Well, just to say it took me many more hours till I could fit them flush as my little battery powered dremel could only last an hour out in the cold before it died.
