My Wrangler was in an accident and it appears that the frame was bent up slightly. I can only tell because the back of the engine is pressing back slightly on the wiring that runs along the firewall. Do you folks know if this is something a body shop could bend back, or is it more serious than I'm thinking it is. Another result of the accident was that the shifter (manual transmission) has a very odd, loose feeling to it and it won't shift out of reverse. When the wrecker brought it to my house, it started up fine and I backed it into the garage. It feels almost as though the shifter is disconnected. The person who was driving banged their leg into it pretty hard in the accident (they're fine), hard enough to leave a pretty nasty bruise. Do you suppose the shifter could have been physically broken? Any other ideas? Thanks, and apologies for the lengthy thread.

It can be fixed...I'd be making their insurance company (or the person who was at fault) pay for it.
But yeah, frames can be straightened. One of the guys on here is/was an insurance adjuster so if you posted a bunch of pics of the damage, they could probably give you an idea of what you might expect it to cost and what all could be wrong with it based on the damage.

Vagreen jeeper or something hes here in Hawaii with me. Yea bent frames can be straightened, just make sure it wont cost as much to straighten as it would to buy a new Jeep. Get a reputable mechanic as they will laser align your body, something you want. I just hope your/his insurance covers it.
