Are you a northerner or a southerner?

Let's hear your thoughts on those from across the mason-dixon

(don't get bashful)

Stefan 03-05-2010 12:33 AM

Just had a random thought, and figured it may be interesting to see what sorts of conversations this opens up.

JeepersdoitDeeper 03-05-2010 12:38 AM

I'm niether...I'm Texan. You need to update your polling options.

debruins 03-05-2010 12:40 AM

kilgoretrout844 03-05-2010 12:40 AM

But I live In florida now and I like it down here

RatherBNarizona 03-05-2010 01:33 AM

Stefan 03-05-2010 01:44 AM

Yeah, I can't figure out how to pop that one in the poll (just after i posted it)
That one was a brain fart on my part.
Just jot down southern if you're from the west (Az, NM, etc)

Texas is southern

JeepersdoitDeeper 03-05-2010 01:52 AM

We refuse to be lumped in with all of those other states.

Stefan 03-05-2010 01:53 AM

Well I apologise

InfernoGirl 03-05-2010 07:26 AM

I'm both... Southern Indiana. Best of both worlds, yankee sensibility, with southern hospitality! :)

jgano23 03-05-2010 07:39 AM

i selected "yankee" b/c i am from the north, but i did it begrudgingly :banghead:. i try to ignore anything "yankee" :zap: but that can be difficult in NJ.

dan188 03-05-2010 07:40 AM

I'm from South Florida, but I live in Northern Massachusetts. I consider myself a Midwesterner.

Y'all come on down. Best BBQ in the world in Memphis, TN. I live on the outskirts just across the border in MS.

kg4kpg 03-05-2010 09:29 AM

I'm Texan, we're our own country. Currently I am the Texas Ambassador to South Carolina, secretly trying to convert them all.

bugman1964 03-05-2010 09:33 AM

I live in maryland which is technically southern but most southerners consider us to be yankees. so your guess is as good as mine. All I know is ass holes live in every part of the country.

s3nt3nc3d 03-05-2010 09:37 AM

Yankee (born in central IL...living in Ohio)... but I love messing with the other admin on my website...he's from Arkansas so I'm always making redneck cracks at him.

Manolito 03-05-2010 09:47 AM

I voted yankee and I am from Northern California. Contrary to what others think I was not around in 1861. California had a strong group in southern california that were supporting the south. A lot like the Democrats today in california not strong enough to pick a side and stick with it. Sure wouldn't want to hurt some persons delicate sensibilities. ;-)
I do love your pulled pork barbecue and boiled peanuts.

You know how you can tell somebody is from Texas? The first words out of their mouth are "Hey, I'm from Texas."

Just kidding, I love Texas. I'm a North Carolina boy, born and bred but I've spent time in south Georgia.

What are you doing in South Carolina?

Ghosthiker 03-06-2010 04:13 AM

Let's see, I was born in Alabama, currently live in Georgia, a major Roll Tide fan and was 10 years old before I knew damnyankee was two words. :flipoff:

NVRDLMO 03-06-2010 04:35 AM

You want the west to vote south but I'm in norcal so I guess that makes me Bi :zap:
