Im looking to put headers and exhaust on my stock 4cyl 5 speed wrangler. its a 2000 tj. Any advice before I spend the cash? Im new to 4cyl is it the bang for the buck ?

Why do you want to install a header and new exhaust? If you are seeking additional power then do yourself a favor and regear your axles instead.

No bang for the buck! I don't think I would spend the money for headers and exhaust. Good advise above about re-gearing.

Look at 505 performance. They make a turbo kit for the TJ 4 banger.

The Banks Power 51316 is a nice set of stainless steel headers, and the Spectre 9940 is a sweet intake. I put them on my '98 TJ and really like them. Didn't turn the 2.5 into a 4.0, but it made a noticeable difference in power. Plus they look fantastic.

I put a Banks header on my 4 cylinder. Kind of expensive but it works well. I made several engined mods: cold air intake, larger throttle body, exhaust header and electric cooling fan conversion. Of those, the single best result was from the electric fan conversion. It took a big load off the engine. Do the header if that's what you want. It'll let the engine breathe better. You won't get much more hp, but it'll have better power delivery.

What fan kit did you use? I'm looking for recommendations. This may be the next mod for my '98 TJ, because it definitely suffers from lack of power on the highway.

The problem with aftermarket headers and some direct replacement manifolds is they WILL crack if they do not have the flex/expansion joints.

Ford 19lb injectors and the 4.0tb were the biggest gain on my 2.5. I agree that the Efan does take a huge load off the engine and it spools up faster. But overall a re-gear is the best.
