I used to live up there (McHenry), if it counts. Worked for Motorola for 15 years, got laid off, and went into field service. I drive around all day and fix stuff. If it's in or around a bank and electronic, I fix it. After getting totally fed up with the winters in Daleyland, I transferred to the mountains. 17 years of that crap was enough. I think we had like 2" of snow here last winter. :p

Currently I am a Firefighter/Paramedic for the city of Rockford, IAFF local 413. Formerly a journeyman tool and die maker, and a heavy diesel mech, & welder in the Chicago/NW IN area.
For those in the LITH area I do know of a good repair shop. Vehicle Performance, Solutions on Imhoff just off Pyott. The guy (Tony) knows 4x4's and diesels very well.
