I didn't think this was very common...

I would seriously think this can't happen that often.
1) it would take some great accuracy to be sure you jeep doesn't tip from one side or the other.
2) Exactly how do you put yourself in this situation that you can't avoid something like this?

YouTube - "How and the hell did you do that" Jeep Wreck

and THEN

YouTube - jeep stuck on a pole...i think!?

How can they treat a jeep like this?:banghead:

well if he has any undercarrage work needed to be done he can easily do it himself now

It's not very often you can get a Jeep in that position to be able to get that plain of a view of the undercarriage, I will definitely give you that.

lol, he said that a few times through the clip. My thoughts:

A) don't slam on the brakes on a gravel road, unless you know what you're doing.
B) Even if you are sliding, from slamming on your brakes, have the common sense enough to turn your wheel to not hit the wire. He surely didn't hit his brakes when he was going straight.

And, if this particular Jeep owner is on these forums, I apologize in advance. :p

maybe they wanted to see a Jeep do a tightrope stunt, since they can do everything else :D

Jeeps can climb pretty much anything!! I actually seen before working for cable co.

gmercer308 03-08-2010 08:37 AM

I actually witnessed a Chevy Silverado do this exact thing while I was at work. I heard screetching tires and looked over. He must not have been paying attention and was about to rear end a vehicle so he slid off the side of the road right up onto a support wire. Front tires were probably 4 or 5 feet off the ground. He backed off it and drove off, lol. The only thing I saw damaged was his bumper from the cable grinding into it. Don't know if there was further damage, but it sure was a site to witness happen!

I must say, I am impressed with the strength of those support wires. A) this happens a lot more than I would think it would, and B) to hold that amount of weight for an extended period of time is impressive.

knew a guy who did similar to his toyota p/u. He was a moron, so it may have been on purpose, I'm really not sure.

Both vids are Unlimiteds. HA.
