Special thanks to CruiserBruiser, JIMBOX, HillDweller, USAntigoon for helping answer alot of my newb questions in my previous thread. I am running 35 x 12.5 x 17 Maxxis BigHorns and the Rough Country 3.25 inch lift. I added X-Flex adjustable control arms and a JKS adjustable front track bar as it didnt come with the kit. My bumpers are Rugged Ridge XHD Modular front and XHD w/ tire carrier rear.

I have some Rugged Ridge Rocker Guards that have been shipped and will be on this week.

Thanks! I've been wanting to do it ever since I bought it 18 months ago....I'm very happy with how it turned out! Icing on the cake was my girlfriend coming home and saying she doesn't really notice that much of a difference "maybe its a little bigger I guess, I just don't pay attention to that stuff" were her exact words. :eek: Good thing she is beautiful because her observation skills suck! :p

Hey thanks for the name drop:D Sharp looking Jeep you got there buddy, glad I could help out!!

JIMBOX 03-24-2010 09:24 AM

:D Thanx Tpr, seems like 2.5" was a well engineered lift, for minimal suspension changes, I like the RC better, cause it's all STEEL !!

:rofl::rofl: JIMBO

Hilldweller 03-24-2010 09:26 AM

JIMBOX 03-24-2010 09:33 AM

You know, I usually really dislike roof racks because most of them make the Jeep look like a range rover... but I like that one. Doesn't look like you lose too much clearance on the top side (Big thing for me living in Chicago, in case I need to get into a parking garage like at work... I make it with about 3 inches to spare at the moment) and looks like it functions well.

That, and I always liked yellow Jeeps. Very sharp!

And TPR, your Jeep is very sharp as well! Looks like it is coming along quite nicely :)

JIMBOX, how long have you had your RC lift. Have you had any problems with the coils sagging after awhile. I've read some sketchy reviews were ppl mother F RC and now I'm worried

InfernoGirl 03-24-2010 09:55 AM

Looks great! :) Those guys are the bomb, aren't they? :D

JIMBOX 03-24-2010 10:09 AM

Although, I chose the RC SPACER- lift, because I've got the Rubicon coil springs, already on and they're longevity is much better than the cheaper, coil lifts coils and mine are warrantied !!

What I meant about "ALL STEEL" was that the "PUCKS" are powdercoated steel, not plastic or rubber, so there will be no structural breakdown

I also used RC9000XL shocks and set them at "5" to try out, I used Daystar front bumpstop extensions and made the rear extensions out of 2x4" sq stock !

I drove the jeep on back roads/Pyramid Lake sand/dirt and I 80 freeway, so far it's much better than stock and is stable as hell

I adjusted the steering wheel so I wouldn't get a "chime" and it's perfect

I couldn't see any visual difference in the front/rear axles placement, because of the 2" lift, I think it's because of MFG tolerances and my Bushwacker fenders

I've also heard that the RC COIL: 2.5" lift is kinda junky

:rofl::rofl: JIMBO

Tpr5318 03-24-2010 10:20 AM

Well I guess time will tell. If I have problems, atleast i've read for the most part RC customer service is good. If I have to change out the coils then I'll cross that bridge when I get to it, atleast I have the adjustable control arms and track bar to grow with my Jeep :rolleyes:

I have also read almost EVERYWHERE that the Rough Country lift is really really Rough....I don't think it's bad at all.

Well I couldn't wait...went out by myself. Learned my lesson to as I almost got stuck after plowing through about 2.5 feet of water and mud. Was about to back out of it tho Need to buy a winch for sure LOL

Hilldweller 03-29-2010 06:59 AM
