Diesel Engine Swap

just wishful thinking

a BMW diesel in a TJ Wrangler !

Now, BMW says it will sell more than 240,000 engines to U.S. police-car startup Carbon Motors for that company's cruiser.

The big shock? They're diesel engines. Specifically, BMW's 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six clean diesel, as used in the 2010 BMW 335d and 2010 BMW X5 xDrive35d sold in the U.S. since late 2008.

I have seen a JK with a Cummins 5.9 in it.... Why not a little BMW?

there is also a JK with a 6.7 in it. another TJ with a 6.0 powerstroke in it, several YJs and atleast one TJ with a 3.9 cummins, and another YJ with a 3.3 cummins.

Yea I've been thinking lots about doing it in mine. I've looked into it and would either get the Cummings 4BT or ford has a small like 3.0 powerstroke that's in box trucks. But after that I don't know what running gear to use. Like tranny, transfer case, and so on.

A guy in my offroad club took the diesel motor out of the Jeep Liberty. Omg that thing looks amazing in there. It looks stalk under the hood

the small powerstroke is a 4.5 v6
the only thing it came in is the ford LCF box truck, from what ive noticed those motors are very had to come by.

Yea that's what I saw, I didn't look into it to much but I think I would go with the 4BT. Those came out of UPS trucks I think but you can find them anywhere. eBay has good prices on them
