Subwoofer stopped working.
Okay so, today i get to school and we have speed bumps going down the parking lot, i go over the first one, and a slow speed under 5 MPH like always, and after i go over it my sub just stops bumping, nothing coming out of it.... So i'm like maybe it over heated i'll let it chill til after school, nope, so i'm home from practice now, i tried reconnecting everything, still nothing. the light when i turn it on is red for a little bit, then turns green shortly after... Very confused as to what I am to do here, if you read alot here I just installed this 2 weeks ago :/

aftermarket equipment, check all connections.

Start with the head unit. Check to verify that your remote turn on and rca-preamp outputs are connected properly and securly.

Check your amp. is your amp working? can you connect a different speaker to it to test it?
If the amp is not working, check your remote turn on lead for shorts or cuts.
If the amp is working with another speaker, then its a bad sub possibly. Check the connections on the sub and inside the sub box.

^its a powered sub, its just one unit all together

it could be a bad ground, i would check all the wiring to make sure everything is connected properly.

do you have access to the wires where the sub connects? it still could be something wrong with the sub instead of the amp.

just a thought.

here's what i do when i trouble shoot a issue like this.

1) i start @ the amp. is there a power light on amp? you said it starts red then goes normaly means protect but since it's not stayin on i will assume thats ok. now does power light stay on?

2) at the amp connections, w/ a test light. test Constant, Remote & Ground.
-if any of these 3 wires are not working then start checking that wire till you find/fix issue.
-if all 3 are fine then look @ fuses, if there are any, on that amp. Test them w/ the test light both sides should have power.. never just look @ them, they could look good and still be bad

this may seem like a waste of time but trust me i have seen some amps turn on it's light for just a ground and one of the other 2 and will drive you nutz.

if everything @ amp seems fine. then i would move on to a couple other things.

3) if you can un-hook speaker wires from amp and use a multi-meter and test Ohm load of the speaker. most common ohm load for car audio is 4. you should be close to that. if you get nothing or a very low number then could be a blown sub or speaker wire come unhooked from speaker.

4) check/test RCA's from radio to amp. if you have a friend with a system that works you can do this easy by jumping a rca from his radio to your amp. if you amp turns on then either rca on your radio is bad or you may have a "sub control" and sub is either muted or shut off.

hope that helps some
