3 Bills coming to congress

A USA today article concerning off roading and an ex-WF member/moderator is interviewed as well:

"If those proposals become law, motorized vehicles would be barred from lands in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.

I guess I'm just going to have to drive my jeep all over the white house lawn then. :flipoff:

Always has amazed how the sierra club and trout unlimited two groups who you think would be in favor of access to lands.. always seem involved in closing them off to everyone.

Bok666choy 08-22-2010 07:02 PM

Lmao if it happens in Utah I'm sure they'll arrest many many many many people breaking the law up in Moab lol

New Hampshire.... when ya cant get enough fun in your home state!

BTA88 07-05-2011 12:03 PM

It sucks, but the .gov owns most of the west. You need to come out east if you want to have a say over what your land gets used for..

Liberals....

The Sierra Club wants people on foot only! They don't even like horses or pack animals. I've been chastised by those idiots in the Desolation wilderness area cause my horse crapped on the trail and I'm carrying a sidearm.

Utah will never agree to this. I am sure they have a TON of revenue from wheelers. Furthermore, I've been to Moab a number of times, including the town. If they outlaw enough stuff, the town will go bust.

Reading the article I also see an interesting fact...NJ started this, so hopefully others will follow...

It seems that if a vehicle (ATVs in this case) is sold (not street legal in any state) in a state, the state MUST provide a place for them to be used, otherwise, it is a paperweight, and cannot be legally used anywhere.

like buying a pocket bike in MI, its too fast to be considered a "toy" too small to be a "scooter" so its not allowed on either sidewalk or street. Legally you can't drive them unless you just so happened to have a track on private property.
**at least thats what the cop told me after a brisk chase

2012powerwrangler 01-23-2012 10:40 AM

obid appearently you arnt allowed to race real cars with a nitro 4tec on streets either

60mg 01-24-2012 02:08 AM

In Illinois (as usually :D) there is no place to wheel (legally) at all unless you own a sh..t load of land. I have to drive over 2 hours to the closest off-road park in Indiana to legitimately have some fun.

In any case, does anyone know what's happened with the bill anyways?

Don't know about the cliffs?

denisbaldwin 01-24-2012 07:08 AM

Don't they realize how seriously that most Jeepers take Tread Lightly?

Mike5087 01-24-2012 08:55 AM

No they don't because they see you tube videos of the 10%(+/-) of people who don't even know what tread lightly is, and put us all in the same category.
