existing body lift

I have a 4" body lift on 31's (bought it that way). The ride is rough already. I want to get the right suspension lift soon. As I understand it, I'll definitely need an SYE if I leave the body the way it is. If I drop the body to 2", what suspension will I need and can I skip the SYE for now? Trying to learn as I go:confused:

Do you want to keep the 31's or do you plan to go bigger? As for the lift.. look over everything really well before you remove the body lift as things like wires, hoses etc might be at their max length or have been modified to get the 4" body lift on. Over all I think a 3-4" suspension lift will work out best. Depends on how good or bad the body lift was installed, you may find you need to have some body lift in there as a result of that install, thus no more than a 1" Body. As for the SYE skip it for now and just lower the t-case skid.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm leaving the 31's for at least a year or two. I just want to leave the room so I can go bigger eventually. Good tip on the BL. Right now, just want to get everything in tune and flying straight. I still have steering issues to deal w/...lots of play is not helping matters. One thing at a time, I guess
