Rear license plate holder

I would like to remove the oem plate holder, anyone have any ideas/options that I could use?

They make a license holder that mounts in the wheel of your spare

Lots of people just take it off, bend the plate to match the curve of the tub and put a nylon washer as a spacer to keep it off the tub.....

I was thinking the exact same thing. This looks totally bad-ass.

Can you take a picture of the result. Im about to do something like that to mind and wonder how it looks before i go bending my plate.

on a side note, can you get pulled over for bending a plate? Could they cite you for 'making it harder to read', or some nonsense like that?

Here's mine. I've got it zip-tied to my spare. I haven't installed them yet, but I have the black billet light-bolts for lighting up my tag. I'm not in any hurry to do it, around here no one cares whether the tag is lit or not.

I have the warrior products plate holder with l.e.d.s but, what infernogirl said works just as well.

Appreciate the responses. However, the the idea of placing it on the spare tire won't work in DE, PA, NJ etc because there is no light above the license plate. Which could result in a violation or in the very least a traffic stop.
I would like to find a plate holder that attaches to the existing holes on the body. Anything out there know of anything out there?
Thanks Again!

Light bolts. Just $13 from most online vendors. Put them in the holes where you would mount the tag and wire them, and you're all lit up and legal. Like I said in my earlier post.....I have a set but haven't installed them yet. I've seen them installed and they light up the tag really well. Just an option.

You can't bend the plate in California because you can't read the beginning numbers from directly behind. Another chicken s**t CA. law.
