I changed the fluid in the D30 yesterday night. I was inspecting the gears (first time I have ever opened a differential) and I noticed the spider gears look a bit warn down. No chips or anything but they look like they are getting pretty rounded and wearing. The fluid level in the diff was fine it came out of the fill hole when I removed the plug. What causes extended wear on the spider gears besides normal driving? It's an 06 with 50k miles. Something I should be concerned about? I haven't cracked open the rear diff yet so I don't know about that one.

post up some pics of it if you can, might be able to help ya figure out what is wearing them down, or if the wear patterns seem normal, odd, etc.

I already put it back together and filled it up so no pics sorry. I'm actually getting ready to do the rear 35 in an hour or so I will compare it to that and take pics as well
As for the front. I saw a pic of a D30 online and the gears looked nice and square. Mine are rounded and look a bit warn. The ring looks fine but the spider gears kind of concerned me no chips or anything though.

If they are more worn than these, then I'd look into replacing them. They are not supposed to be completely squared off at the tips. They have a slight chamfer that tapers in on the edges just before the tips of the teeth. If the edgers are really smooth and rounded, then probably need replacing.
