Hey everyone. I just bought my first Jeep last month (2003 Wrangler Freedom Edition, 4.0, 5-spd, 31.0/10.5-15 tires, no lift...yet). Anyway, I thought I noticed my front passenger side fender sitting lower over the tire than the driver side. After checking it parked on level pavement, the passenger side does sit about 3/4 inch lower than the driver side. Could this be from a sagging spring or just a bad shock? It's in very good condition for its age and mileage (about 131,000). When do coils on these “normally" need to be replaced? If it's just the shock I'll just replace those for now, but if you guys think it's the spring, I may just go ahead with the lift. By the way...I'm looking at the Rancho 2.5" Sport Lift with RS5000 shocks if anyone has any experience with this particular kit. Sorry for the longwinded post, but thanks in advance for any help/suggestions!

I would say that its your coil spring. If it doesn't bother you to much just wait until you get the new lift. The lift that you go with make sure it comes with new coil springs and not just spacers.

Before you throw money at it take out a tape measure and see if it is infact the springs. Many TJ lean like yours and that is after swapping springs around also. Sometimes its a sway bar issue , body mounts , air pressure in tires . Its hardly ever just springs for the leaning to the passenger side issue. Mine did with OE springs with 50,000 mile on them . I swapped the 3" BDS and its no different .

My tj has the lean also, I have swapped sides with the springs and even installed new springs...nothing. Like you 3/4 in lower on the passenger side.

FWIW went through similar thing a few years back (note similarities) '04 4.0 5spd.
31"x 10.50" on factory rims at almost exactly 130K I noticed the "lean".....and attributed it to the fact that due to the "crown" on the roads, and frequently turning left, and the twist from axle and motor/ torque the right side "wore" faster.
Replaced with an OME kit and even though kit was for a 2.5" SL I gained almost 3"...and still had a small difference in fender flare height...so added (1) 3/4" spacer to right front all good now!!

Ive had this issue with all 3 jeeps ive owned. 2 Cherokees, both with spring lifts and now my current TJ with a 4" lift. And all 3 had a passenger side lean. Never been able to fix it. Just dealt with it all these years. I attribute it to the engine/torque twisting the body to that side every time plus the way the roads are.
