What ta ???
So I get in my 03 TJ saturday morning, fire her up, head down the road. When I hit the local straight strech I notice the steering wheel is off about 90 degrees. I turn it both directions quickly, and it responds as it should.
Tonight after work was the 1st chance I have had to put it up and see whats what. Much to my dismay the top steering box to frame bolt is missing, and the bottom 2 are loose.
Does Mopar not believe in loctite?
I have a 4" lift, dropped pitman, 33" tires, and it gets babbied.
I backed oe of the 2 remaining bolts out to get a match, and they are junk. Could they be any softer material?
Needless to say this weekend its going in the garage, and going to be rebuilt the way it should have been the 1st time around.
Any one else experience this? I am a little dissapointed that at 48 K its starting to fall apart, and I have yet begun to "use" it. Kind of spooks me a little.
It amazes me how much stuff can come loose under my Jeep. Evertime I change the oil I re-tighten everything nut and bolt I can find the I grease everything up. There's just a lot of maintenance to do when owning a Jeep. Especially one that has a lot of aftermarket accessories.
I actually enjoy wrenching on my jeep...
