Extendatrunk

Hi everyone,

I would like to buy an extendatrunk for my Jeep wrangler 1991. However i have looked in the Quadratec catalogue, none exist for the 1991 model jeep, only latter models. Have also looked in other catalogues like 4wud, jcwhitney and again same problem, only for latter models. Does anybody know where i can buy either a secondhand trunk or where i could locate a new extendatrunk for my jeep ?? Its for storage in summer that is safe and secure.

Thanks to anyone out there who can help. I appreciate your time.

On quadratec's site Tuffy makes some security trunks that fit the 87-95 model. Not exactly an extendatrunk but good for security because it locks. Here's one and here's another

Janey: you are correct. The ExtendaTrunk is a TJ only item.
We do offer one storage option for YJ - called Instatrunk. But it's a smaller, simpler design.

Luckily, the Jeep universe is vast, and one of our competitors will be able to provide what you need. I'd most likely start at the Tuffy web site.

Good hunting!

WOW! Those quadratec ones are expensive!!! Shoot, for $300 or $600 Im sure someone could fabricate a nice locking box. Maybe even with speakers and a coffee pot for that price.

The bestop Instatrunk isn't to bad between $125-$150.00...

Pretty cool, did'nt know they made such a thing for the Jeeps.

Hi to everyone that replied. Thank you.
I agree with sevenservices yes the extendatrunk is expensive 300-400 $ is a lot of money and then you have to pay shipping costs to Europe which is around 70 Euros more. Really like the extendatrunk as it slides in and out, you can use it for a picnic table and it also has a double opening for storage of papers etc.
Geoff at Bestop, and Hotshotjus will look at Tuffy but even those boxes are quite expensive. The instatrunk is too small ,i need to carry large suitcases.
Thanks everyone will keep hunting.

yea found the tuffy ones but they too look kinda expensive if you want to get a larger one. i would say look around locally and maybe someone can fabricate one for you or you could do it yourself. good luck and keep us updated

Hi Hotshotjus,

The photo of your jeep is exactly the same colour as mine, with beige interior. Have decided the extendatrunk is too expensive to buy, so going to get it fabricated, have taken photos of it from different angles, now off to get some quotes. Lets see !

Not sure what is used in Europe but here they use something similar for construction workers. We use vans that have roll out bins and storage compartments that hold a lot of weight, you would just have to have a lockable storage box mounted to the 'rollers'.
Electrical contractors I've worked for have them installed.

Thats awesome! I really like the color because its not too bright and works well with the tan top. I've been looking around to try and figure out the color but haven't had any luck. Do you know the paint code or name for that matter???

Hello, i think that your jeep colour is "malibu yellow" which is a lighter yellow then my jeep. My jeep colour is very bright and is aclled "sunset yellow". Hope this helps :-)
