Desert Sand Colored Jeep Wrangler?

I'm having trouble finding any Jeeps with this color.

I'm looking to buy a Jeep soon, and I would absolutely love to find this color.

I can't find much info on the web but it seems like Wranglers came in this color in '99 and '00 which is around the year I want to buy my Wrangler.

If anyone knows a term to search for the actual color (is it desert sand? Tan?) and knows what other years/models have this color it would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Are you talking about the Khaki metallic color?

GroundHawg 05-02-2010 02:24 PM

the khaki color is very cool. i think that's what your seeing.

4Jeepn 05-02-2010 02:24 PM

Color is correct,Desert Sand Pearlcoat, many of them where on sahara's.

I also like the Desert Sand color on the Sahara.

That's a nice find Kate!
But that ugly diamond plate corner guard and chrome gas door just have to go.
Kinda ruins the look IMO.
They both would've looked better in black. :)

Kate 05-02-2010 05:11 PM

I agree! That's the first thing I thought when I saw the photo. "That corner guard needs to go!
Maybe the billett aluminum hood latches too.

Yea! Black would look GREAT, but chrome or polished aluminum, naw.. not for me.

I like that color, but I'd prefer a flat tan more military like.

Didn't even see the hood latches.
Yuk.
Not sure what the previous owner was thinking.
To each their own I guess. :)

Speaking of black corner guards...
Have you seen those plastic black diamond plate corner gaurds?
WTF?
And they cost $80 to boot.:rofl::rofl:

And you are correct...only produced in 1999 and 2000. Color is also indeed Desert Sand Pearlcoat.

wow after posting that mine doesn't appear to be the same color you're looking for?! is it just me or the lighting in the picture?

Yith 05-03-2010 01:21 PM

It is probably just the lighting.

Ahhh stop posting pictures of them, they're so awesome, I can't take it.

There is a '99 Sport for sale here at www.autovestors.com. Scroll down the inventory.

AfterMath 05-05-2010 12:36 PM

You could always buy whatever...and get it painted...?

Is there a reason I can't post in the "Wanted" forum? I'm trying to look for a Sahara in this color now (around 2000) but I'm not allowed to post there? : /

I have that color, I get a lot of compliments. Had to search for a while before I found it. One downfall however is that it is hard to locate touch-up paint that matches. If anybody know any links to some that does match, I would appreciate it.

Yith 09-16-2010 09:40 PM

So I need 15 posts eh?

Found this Jeep : Wrangler: eBay Motors (item 320589244714 end time Sep-18-10 19:00:00 PDT)

but don't think the auction is long enough to feel comfortable buying it and would like the Sahara 6 cylinder to have some power.

These things are hard to find in this color and getting them painted is so expensive.

Yep bud 15 post, but that is easy to obtain.

I guess finding them depends on location. I probably see 4 of the sahara's everyday and many of non sahara's rolling around the midwest.

JJraddles 09-16-2010 10:02 PM

not gonna lie that color look damn good
