It's sooo cool to see other renegade owners out there! We seem to be the red-headed step children of the jeep world

1991 Wrangler YJ Renegade 06-10-2010 01:08 PM

I took my carpet completely out and went the bed lining route

kj 92yj 06-16-2010 03:01 PM

hey loudawg11, did you get your off craigslist in cincinnati? if so, i was looking at the same one! that would be too funny. bought a 92 islander instead.

We are in the process of a complete restoration of a black '92 Renegade. It was in pretty rough shape when we got it. Ripped seats, faded paint, dents, missing/broken parts, and a high mileage motor. So far we have completely restored the interior back to original condition and are in the process of prepping it for a complete repaint. Next will be a complete motor rebuild. Our goal is to restore it back to showroom condition.

I've got a 1991 Black Renegade in NE North Dakota. Bought it off Craig's List in Minneapolis. Tow it behind our 35' Winnebago Brave.

Glenn91YJ 07-29-2010 03:45 PM

Another 91 Rene

I like them because they do look different and pretty nice fixed up. I picked mine up this past spring and have done a fair amount of work to it so far. I got real lucky with mine...solid frame and only a small bit of rust on the driver's side floor. Here's a few pics.

Thanks! :D
Getting ready to swap in a 94 roll bar and 3-point belts (safer for the passengers) Using Monstaliner (Monstaliner do-it-yourself roll-on truck bed liner outperforms Herculiner Bed Liner, Duplicolor and Rustoleum Road Warrior) on the interior.

Winter project will be installing a SYE and preping for paint in the spring. Smittybilt XRC bumpers, D-Rings and winch once paint is finished.

NICE RED RENEGADE!!! It looks to be in amazing shape too!

When you're looking at lifts take a look at the Race Car Dynamics 4" Lift Kit. That's what I put on and I can"t say enough good things about it. I purchased it from Quadratec for $699.99. It's listed on their site for $924.99 on sale for $729.99. Their latest catalog has it for $699.99. I called them and got the lower price. With the Bilstien 5100 shocks I couldn't pass it up. I got a lot of good feedback on their products so I figured I would try it.

RCD Suspension 4" Lift Kit with Bilstein Shocks for 87-95 Jeep® Wrangler YJ - Quadratec

The kit includes the TC drop which isn't shown in the picture. The one thing it didn't come with was ne U-Bolts for the rear even though they are shown in the photo. I when ahead and ordered a set of Black Diamonds.

I also installed 5/8 greaseable boomerang shackles front and rear. Drives great on the road. I need to do a few more things before taking it off-road.

Here's a few pictures of the lift.

NICE RENEGADE! :punk:
You are turning some serious rubber there. I think those are the biggest tires I've seen on a Renegade. How much lift you running? Looks like you added some TJ Flares or something close.

RenegadeJpr 08-02-2010 12:44 PM

Thanks for the info Glenn91YJ! I'll be checking into it for sure.
