Tire width?

I am wondering if there is any difference in performance between 9.5 " wide tires and 10.5" tires?

TjTheo 05-15-2010 08:33 PM

thinner tires are better in deep snow
i allways liked the lookof the wider ones though
one inch shouldnt make much of a difference

^^^^ Yep, narrower tires are better in deep doodoo like snow and mud, wider for sand. But 1" won't make that much difference. Narrower will be lighter, so less damaging to mpgs. But there again, not enough difference to be noticeable probably.

I was wondering if 33x9.5x15 will fit on stock jk rubi

InfernoGirl 05-16-2010 10:55 AM

Should fit, but you'll likely have to do some grinding on the calipers to fit 15" wheels on a JK, iirc.

never thought of that. thanks. you probobly saved me a lot of grief

255-85-16 would work nicely.

i got a question, would 31x10.50x15 tires fit on a stock wrangler?

They'll fit. You'll probably want at least a wheel with 4" BS cause you could rub a little.

waynequlle 05-18-2010 10:02 PM

Ok thanks for the help. ^^

They'll fit fine on stock 5.xx" backspace rims. 4" backspace (on an 8" rim) on a stock height vehicle looks stupid, and with the tires hanging out of the flares it throws crap everywhere.
