Best 3-4'' suspension?
Hello! I am searching for a 3-4" suspension lift to throw some 32'' or 33'' under. I will be using it for moderate off-roading (NOT JUST FOR LOOK), but it is also my daily driver (40-50 miles day) to and from work and around town. So I want a suspension that will handle the trail but also be comfortable on the highway. I am looking to spend $700-$1,000.

From my research I believe a BDS or Rubicon Express coil suspension is what I am looking for. Both seem to have great reviews and warranty. Anyone have any reasons for one over the other? Any suggestions on other similar suspensions i should look at? What about Black Mountain?

Any extra parts i should purchase that do not come in the standard kit?

Thanks a lot-

As you can tell from a quick search, the 4.5 RE long arm isn't going to fit your budget.

If you can start with 1k the 3.5 RE SUPER Flex is a great high quality. Little stiff ride but good tires and shocks will help. Major Dif b/w 4.5 and 3.5 is that the 4.5superflx comes with uppercontrol arms and I believe 1" spacer for coils. From what I understand both kits have the same springs.

I went 3.5 RE SupFLx and had to add ProComp 9000 shocks (very stiff) and a drop pitman arm. Everything else is in the kit. Tot about 1k.... so far.

It won't be long before you might feel you need a SYE kit. Lots of guys like Tom woods but I've been happy with Adams driveshaft with Rugged Ridge SYE kit combo I found on Ebay. $420 search sye kit tj. Add in the Rear Upper control arms(which I haven't installed yet) was another $230. But the SYE kit alone has almost cancelled all vibes. Angles not perfect though.

PS the 3.5" lift is underated. Will sit much higher. They expect you to have a lot of weight and add ons i guess and you'll still be above 3.5"

My gf's 5'7 and leaning. I've got 33's

AEV has some very, very nice 3" springs you might want to consider...

Got more pics of the GF?

Hey, somebody was going to ask sooner or later, right?

I love my RE 3.5 superflex kit, it has held up to huge abuse from me. they have had some issues with the rubber bushings lately but overall its a very good kit for your buck. you dont HAVE to run a sye and dshaft right away. I still havnt done mine. (its in the mail 4 years later)
