jeep jamboree

Okay so I know there is Jeep Jamboree and Jeep Camp. I get Jeep Camp but Jamboree? The reason I ask is they are having one near my house but other then having a bunch of jeep people there whats the deal. I costs like 30 bucks to go to the same place to off road any other time so why spend 10 times that to go to the same place for Jamboree?

Ageless Stranger 06-02-2010 12:27 AM

Maybe there will be special guests there or something?

InfernoGirl 06-02-2010 12:48 AM

They have give aways from vendors and you get to go on trails that are lead by experienced people... The one near me is a full weekend and it's like $750.00! I'd love to go, but day-um... That's a load of cash for a weekend of wheeling! I will say, I know several folks who have done them, and they have all been to more than one, so that right there tells me something....

I'm guessing you are referring to the Jeep Jamboree at the Badlands in less than 2 weeks. I'm not sure what is the big deal with Jamborees in comparison to just wheeling with fellow Jeepers who are experienced on the trails, but I'll be happy to report back on the topic as I am signed up to attend that event. It is more pricey than simple admission to the Badlands park but I'm sure they have some added benefits. The trail guides for one thing, plus there are several meals included (although living only an hour away that's not a selling point for me). So I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Guys I live not to far away from the Badlands central Indiana. Who all is going I would like to haver the rest of my JK ready to go if not I could just hang out with the Jeepers:) Thanks J,C,

I have trail guided for the Jamboree's on and off over a few years. On some, not all trips you are going on trails that might not be open to the public. Some include all your meals, some don't. You also have guides to help if needed on the trail. Over the years I have gone I have made new friends I would not have otherwise met and got to see parts of the county I had not been to before. Yes, if one is in your backyard, it might not be the one to attend, vs one in another state. Thus, read up on them, search for video's on line and see if its something you might like.

^^ That's good gouge, 4Jeepn. Thanks!

Yes I was talking about the Badlands event. We wanted to go to it but I'm just not going to be able to get away from work that weekend. I'm going to go to one this year but looks like it will not be the badlands. Jeep had a contest this past month for a Jeep walk around video and I made a video and sent it to them. (contest was for Jeep sales people) the grand prize is a paid Jeep Jamboree or Camp any where of your choice, they fly you up to have lunch with the CEO of Jeep, and 2 nights at the MGM casino. This is all based on me winning the best video out of everyone else in the USA but there is always that chance!!! If not then I guess I'm out some cash

Chef, if you can't make the one at Badlands, come down and do the one in French Lick...

jake_blue 06-02-2010 02:38 PM

That was my other thought on this - if the Jamboree is worthwhile then I'd definitely register for the French Lick one and probably also an LBL one (my family lives there). If not, I'm sure we can round up the local members and plan our own ride!

The French Lick Jamboree is held on private property.

Normally it's $20 to get in for passenger vehicles and $5 per passenger and $15 per quad. So $30 isn't too bad. I'm considering going. Where in NW, IN are you at?

Cool, I used to live right downtown but I moved to Westville a couple years ago.
