Rock Sliders

I am looking to add a set of rock sliders to my YJ.

Been looking at the Shrock Works ones with the tube step.

Any others I should be looking at?

activelydying 01-12-2007 08:41 PM

i've heard the poison syder rockerknockers with slider are pretty nice. i'm hoping to pick up a set in the near future.

jeeze AD, rub it in.

I was looking at shrockworks, too. They look pretty nice and I think the guy told me there was only a two week lead time.

I have the shrock works sliders with the tube step/protection, They are really really nice and thick, quality proctection right their....Took me about two hours to install.... but thats with a indoor "crane" (chain pulley system on the ceiling in my friends shop), lifted the body right up.

I love my shrockworks, go for them, also very good tech support if you have any questions.

I research the hell out of everything I buy. (It's a curse.) I looked at everything that was out there and decided on the the Shrockworks ones with the tubes for a multitude of reasons. They are all a little different, price, the way they mount, wait time, quality, finish, etc. It seems that just about everyone is happy with the one's they choose. The bottom line is that they all serve a function. Pick one that you like the looks of and will work for the way you want to use them.

Here's mine:http://www.wranglerforum.com/showpos...38&postcount=3

#1 Why did you need a carne to lift the body up?

#2 I have them and they are very nice.

if you have stock side steps attached to your flares look into hanson enterprises sliders. their's are designed to fit into the stock front flare and have a step incorporated. they do not show them on their website however.

#1 It was easier/more fun:flipoff: to jack the whole body up at once and we didnt have a floor jack that would get up high enough/wouldn't get in the way during installation. I only lifted it enough to slide the sliders in, not all the way to the ceiling.

Poison Spyder Rocker Knockers w/ Sliders

I know I'm old and fading......But, does anybody know what Poison Spyder means by stock flares vs. TJ flares for a YJ rock slider?

MouthfulOfGrass 01-23-2007 01:00 PM

I read a good article once on a TJ buildup. The guy used Turbo City ROCK-IT sidebars. Seemed he was really well thought out in his process and shopping, and I was impressed.
I went to look for the article to put up a link to it and it seems the article is gone now. It was on, jeep at off-road dot com , and the article was called "project trail J". I see where the article should be, in the past projects section, but when I click on the article itself nothing comes up. Oh well, I shoulda saved or printed it at the time. Things get out of date so quickly.

some people put TJ flares on their YJ and then trim the fenders out some. the tj flares are wider

ddavie 01-23-2007 02:11 PM

Wow. I've never seen the Shrockworks bars before. Those are nice! Reasonable too. I may have to splurge ;)

Triple88a 02-28-2007 08:27 PM

I'm interested in the reversa bars but from my research it all seems that the stock steps need to be removed :( I'm looking for something just like the reversa bars but i want something that sticks out past the stock steps... if any one knows something of that kind please let me know (pm or post here whatever your heart desires:))

Yep texapple's got it :) I love how it looks i just want it to be a bit wider to the sides so it can be on the outside of the stock step.

Hmmm, so just curious as to why you'd want those and also want to have the stock steps on there? Looks like you could just mount them upside down and have a better step than the stock one.

AzTJ 02-28-2007 11:33 PM

I think Tex has the DoubleTube sliders that Olympic4x4 offers, not thier ReVersaBar.

Triple88a 03-01-2007 12:46 PM

The only reason i want it to be further out is when some one opens their door i want them to hit the metal piece onstead of my door or the paint.

AzTJ 03-01-2007 07:05 PM

But they wont hit the door... and you wont be able to use the stock steps with these, its one or the other :p

They wont hit the door? You dont know how it is living here. People dont care about anything but their own self. The other day some lady pulls next to my rig with some crappy escalade.. She opens the door like dinosaurs are chasing her right into my door. I am telling you i felt like kicking her door in on my way out of the place i was at. I'm guessing a lift should solve that but i still want something more than just the lift to protect my doors. I rather mess up the paint on my door from offroading than have some retard open the door into mine.

NWilhelm 03-02-2007 07:19 AM

ive got the olympic reverse-a-bar. i havent really used them as rock sliders, just a step, but i hear they are good.
