Soft Top Warranty

Does Jeep have a Warranty on their Soft tops?

tiny terror 01-13-2007 06:29 PM

iamagolfspaz 01-14-2007 04:03 AM

Somehow the side rail over my driverside got a little tweeked. When i shut my door, the top of the door hits the top and doesnt close.

tiny terror 01-14-2007 11:56 AM

Awww come on, you gotta tell us how you managed to do that?? "Somehow" just doen't give me the full picture. :D

iamagolfspaz 01-14-2007 12:34 PM

Probably the first time i took it off it might have gotten squeezed somewhere.

tiny terror 01-14-2007 12:45 PM

I don't think a warranty would apply if you tweeked it. It has to be something wrong from the factory I would think. Maybe the part was weak, then you might be able to get them to take care of it.

... stop taking your top down with a hammer.

iamagolfspaz 01-14-2007 12:48 PM

I dont think that i would be able to replace the rail.

tiny terror 01-14-2007 01:35 PM

You bent the actual rail? Wow.

I'm not familial with the TJ hardware, but I know that for my YJ top, you can buy every piece seperately.

Are you talking about the door surrounds? If so Jeep can replace them(they are very proud of them though) but I'm not sure if a warrenty will cover them. If you are talking about the place on the sport bar where the surrounds attach I'd like to know how the bar got bent also(I've been trying for a month just to have an excuse to cough up the money for a new full cage) :). The plastic pieces in the actual top are permanent and to replace them you will have to have the top replaced.

iamagolfspaz 01-15-2007 11:35 AM

Yes odhinn, its the plastic piece that goes into the rail to hold the top down over the doors.

Odhinn 01-15-2007 12:24 PM

I've had that happen a few times, mine returned to shape (with time and forcing it back as close to shape as possible) after I put the top back up. As far as the warranty on the top I really can't say.

That was a very shiny window. I wish I could keep my windows that clean.

Oooh the drip thingy? You must have bent it when you folded the top. You have to be sure to pull them in and fold the top neatly (god, there's something wrong with me, I'll fold it six times to get it to lay flat). It should go back into place though... has you tried heat? Low heat that is. Don't melt it.

(I thought you meant the metal bar)

iamagolfspaz 01-16-2007 02:12 PM

I will have to give the low heat a try.
