My power steering gets tight after the vehicle gets hot. There is no squealing coming from the pump and the levels are full. I plan to change the fluid. What do you think is causing the change in steering. Also the vehicle sat for a while before I got it and I think the pump is original.
hmmm.... if it gets tight "hard to turn" then the pump is'nt doing what it is supposed to when it gets hot. Like you mentioned, start by flushing it out to make sure there is'nt any water or air in it. Its similar to a hydrolic pump and with hydrolics, even one grain of sand can ruin your day.
