3" full traction Lift installed.....

Just got my lift installed and here are some pics its a 3" full traction lift. Now i dont cause this is my first lift was wondering if it was normal for a lifted jeep to make how do say clashing noise or it feels like something is losse under the jeep.

Now all i need is 33"s so it wont look funny. Sorry about trash my parents are getting some work done on the house.

Looks real good, +1 on the 33s. Id say recheck for somthing loose.

Nice work. Lift looks pretty solid. If you have some kind of a noise that is pretty noticeable then no it's not supposed to be there. Like CT said check everything over for tightness. It's hard to tell in the pictures, but to me your sway bar links look a little long. So could it be the sway bar hitting the fenders when you hit a bump?

Mike001 01-19-2007 01:40 PM

My lift does that I can't figure out what it is the aligment shop seen nothing and neither has anyone else I think it might be my diskos though. The spherical bushings or something i don't know

mrbigjeep 01-19-2007 04:13 PM

looks sweet. gonna look real good with 33's. no vibes right? im assuming you don't have any since its an LJ.

JeepGuyLJ 01-19-2007 11:47 PM

Yeah i have no vibs but i told 4wheel parts not to install the tcase drop but they said the kit comes with one so they have to so ok whatever. Thanks i like the lift but again i guess when you buy a lift you have to deal with the nosie that can come from a lift. I also think it will look good with 33" by 10.5 at cause the stock ones are a little to small.

noise?? i wouldn't say thats something you have to deal with. your lift shouldn't have any strange noise if its setup properly.

the t-case drop is easy to take off.

JeepGuyLJ 01-20-2007 05:55 PM

I think i know where the noise is coming from its i think from the quick discos cause i tool them off to try to flex and i didnt hear the noise anymore oh well.

must be. maybe you'll get it straightened out. what tires are you gonna run?

JeepGuyLJ 01-20-2007 10:15 PM

My dad says run 31"s but i think i should run 33"s the only reason he says that is that im going to have trouble getting on to the freeway cause jeep is going to loose power but i dont know.

AzTJ 01-20-2007 10:17 PM

comprimise and go 32's :D

you should have 3.73's so you should be perfectly fine. if he says no then do like AZTJ said and compromize with 32's.

what brand tires are you thinkin about?

JeepGuyLJ 01-20-2007 11:41 PM

I was going more towards BFG AT's i dont think i want mudders.

Triple88a 01-20-2007 11:55 PM

Boggers :) i wonder if he will like them :)

here we go not mine but some1s http://www.sounddomain.com/ride/840824/1

I have an LJ with an Automatic like yours. I run 33's with the stock gears and have no problems on the freeway. If you are worried, go with the 32's.

Steve97TJ 01-22-2007 12:16 AM

Bfg all terrains are good and all but i wish i would have gone with a mud terrain tire. With proper rotation you can get just as much life at some times.

AzTJ 01-22-2007 12:40 AM

It all depends on what kind of trails/terrain he takes. If he goes on roacky roads more I'd go for the A/T's... more mud, then the M/T's. The A/T's on my Xj have worn awsomely, and do what I ask of them on medium difficulty trails. YOu might loose a few more pieces of tread/lugs with M/T's than an A/T.

affende 01-22-2007 01:06 AM

33s at least.

rubbing="ghey" :D

i enjoy my mud terrains. they are wearing super well and should last a while and they do great on the road while still doing awesome offroad.

Mike001 01-22-2007 08:28 AM

I have 33's and I have no problems and my gears are 3.07's, but I also got a 6 speed so that 1st gear is like a granny low.

Mike001 01-22-2007 11:15 AM

I agree, do you just drive it on the street? I bet those tires rub going over speed bumps. My 31's rubbed at full stuff on a stock suspension.

hahahhaha

my jeep is no pavement pounder / mall crawler .... go low or go home.

my front fenders do look like they got in a fight with a hammer, though ;)

if its any consolation, i just blew up the cry-stler 666 (999) tranny last night on a snow run on the local trail. big hill climb + loose dirt + snow + big rocks + heavy right foot = blown up tranny

at least the D35 rear survived :flipoff:

JeepGuyLJ 01-22-2007 02:21 PM

Just took my jeep to the 4xdoctor to have the noise checked out and guess what (4WHEELPARTS) forgot to put one of the nuts back on the rear arm thats what making all that noise. I have to take it back tomarrow for them to fix the alignment im never taking my jeep back to 4wheel parts for anything, Now my jeep runs like it just came out of the dealer show room.

AzTJ 01-22-2007 03:08 PM

wow - luckly nothing serious happened while driving it

JeepGuyLJ 01-22-2007 04:06 PM

Yeah i know. Its a good thing 4xdoctor found what it was and fix it for free too those guys are great.

The ATs are great all around tire. I used to run them. Now I run the mudders, and they are sweet too, but if u don't need them, go with the ATs with confidence.

Do you have a 6 speed? If so you should be good with the 33's. If auto, I would go with 32's or be willing to re-gear within a year, cuz it's gonna bug you.

Sorry to hear about your blowout. Glad to hear your D35 survived! They get a bad rap, but they are tougher than people think.

i sure have heard a bunch of good reviews about them. NOT! see, noises aren't a disadvantage of a lift. you shouldn't have them. glad everythings good.

i did a better job on my lift then they could. they'd probably put my rear springs up front and put my shocks upside down and then take out the seats because they couldn't disconnect the sway bar.

i crack myself up! i sound like scout now. :D :flipoff:

Steve97TJ 01-22-2007 11:11 PM

I wanna see a picture of those 33's with no lift. Have any?
