Alright so I went offroading in my 1990 Jeep Wrangler and went over a slight hill and landed in a somewhat steep drop. It drives fine but when I turn the steering wobbles. I love jeeps but i don't really know too much about cars so I was wondering if anybody knew what was wrong or could tell me what to look for.
Yeah it's a little sketchy on the details. So I was driving with a friend and the road runs along the top of a hill and his house is at the bottom and there is this monstrous overgrown field so we had the bright idea to drive down through it. What I didn't know was that it did a sort of ski jump thing and I landed kind of hard at the bottom. It wasn't anything too extreme but I think the steering is a bit messed up and like I said I don't really know that much about it.
Ok thanks! I'll look at those things. One other thing I forgot to mention though is that it only does it when I'm turning. It's fine when I'm going straight.
It seems to favor the left but then again that may just be that I made a lot of left hand turns. And to answer your question yes it was disengaged. We also have a 4x4 Posi-Lok on it if that makes any difference, which I don't think it does.
Naw, the posi-lock doesn't make a difference as long as the transfer case is in 2WD. After a visual inspection of all the steering and front end components I would take it in and have the alignment checked and go from there.
yeah it seems to be fine. It was probably always there and i just didnt notice it before. either way thanks to everyone who offered help. glad i found this site. on to a whole new set of problems. thanks again guys
Hey its better than CHADWICK'ing it.. i had to say it
