The frame crossmember on my '94 YJ that goes under the rear seat . . . the one that the front of the gastank skidplate bolts to is rusted out. I have been trying to find a replacement piece to weld in so I didn't have to fab one. I can't believe that nobody makes a replacement for this crossmember, since you can pretty much build an entire jeep from aftermarket parts these days. I've found frame repair pieces, rear crossmembers, and transmission crossmembers/skidplates but not this crossmember. Does anyone know where I can find one? HELP, PLEASE:banghead:

Anyone else had to repair this?
If nobody knows of a replacement piece I can buy, has anyone else had to make this same repair? Any tips/advice on how you did it? The gas tank is hanging down in the front because the crossmember let loose and that is where the three front bolts on the gas tank skidplate mount!
I don't know of any place that makes that piece. going to have to fabricate. mine's getting rough but still holding. My jeep lived in michigan and had to move it to calif. so it would stop rusting.

thats one place I avoid, and there only a hour up the road. very pricey, but they do have a lot of stuff.

Thanks for the quick replies guys/gals! Thanks for the links Kate. I checked them out; unfortunately they refer to the rear frame crossmember. My problem is the next crossmember forward from that one . . . under the vehicle where the other end (front end) of the gas tank skid attaches. Thanks for the link Kik; I'll see what those guys have to offer. If they can't get me one then I guess it's fab time!
