New jk!!!
I ordered my car 6+ weeks ago and it CAME IN YESTERDAY!!!

SO far, loving it and can't wait to upgrade lots of stuff-

JK 2dr manual...

When i got it, it had 8 miles on it- for the first few trips im smelling a real bad smell coming from the car when i park- is this "normal" engine break in?

Also, should I keep it below a certain speed limit for the first 100 miles? what "rules" should I follow for my new car?

Thanks, i'll post pics real soon.

Welcome to the forum.
I pick up mine at 15kms & now have 800kms on it. That smell might be some shipping grease on exhaust. Mine had that, as they got it on a Friday & I took it home on the Sunday & it wasn't even unwrapped yet! As for driving, I was told no long trips at the same speed for like 1-2 hours. Keep changing up the speed. As for Oil Changes, I was told around 4000kms or if oil life monitor comes on sooner. Normal oil changes are at 10000kms according to dealer.

What kind of car did you get? Congratualtions on getting a Jeep as well! :D I don't know about engine break in for your car, but the Jeep clearly states in the manual what you should do. This is from the 2009 manual:

A long break-in period is not required for the engine in
your vehicle.
Drive moderately during the first 300 miles (500 km).
After the initial 60 miles (100 km), speeds up to 50 or
55 mph (80 or 90 km/h) are desirable.
While cruising, brief full-throttle acceleration within the
limits of local traffic laws, contributes to a good break-in.
Wide-open throttle acceleration in low gear can be detrimental
and should be avoided.
The engine oil installed in the engine at the factory is a
high-quality energy conserving type lubricant. Oil
changes should be consistent with anticipated climate
conditions under which vehicle operations will occur.
The recommended viscosity and quality grades are
shown in “Engine Oil”, under “Maintenance Procedures”
in section 7 of this manual. NON-DETERGENT OR
A new engine may consume some oil during its first few
thousand miles (kilometers) of operation. This should be
considered a normal part of the break-in and not interpreted
as an indication of difficulty.

Break it in, get the top down and doors off and go have fun! Base your upgrades on your needs first (I would recommend a tire upgrade if you got the basic stock ones) and then add the extra toys.

I think we need pics of your new Jeep.

Congrats on your new Jeep. There are two things you need to remember. 1. You are now a part of the Jeep Wrangler family and are required to wave at all Wranglers that you encounter along your way and 2. There are cars, trucks, vans, and suvs, but a Jeep is in a class of it's own. Enjoy your new toy. Now go play in the dirt.
