Heartland Jeep club at LBL on July 11th... ;)

We're going, any one else interested? :)

Zetsumei 07-07-2010 09:28 AM

Where and what is the LBL :D I'm a n00b on some of these location/club things.

4Jeepn 07-07-2010 09:31 AM

land between the lakes,,, KY... turkey bay orv... kenlake state park..

InfernoGirl 07-07-2010 09:47 AM

^^^^ Land between the lakes... Come on down and join us!

Zetsumei 07-07-2010 12:59 PM

Should've figured that out on my own lol. So it's just the 11th? I'll be out of town until Sunday, and I'm not sure when I'll be back. I'm also very new to offroading and haven't done anything technical.

InfernoGirl 07-07-2010 01:20 PM

It is my understanding that these guys aren't hard core wheelers. Just mild trails around the lake. I've not wheeled with them before, but since my Jeep is my DD, I take it pretty easy on her... :)

Zetsumei 07-07-2010 01:25 PM

That's how mine is for the time being... I don't think I'm going to be able to make it down. Not sure exactly when I'll be back from Ohio.

Warlock 07-07-2010 09:36 PM

I'll be there, I think they are going to be running the back roads and trails off the Trace, and stopping to cook out.

Jeeper 07-08-2010 08:04 AM

Hi

We hope to have 5-10 coming. Mild trails, great scenery, new friends and beautiful weather. Come ride. OIIIO

"It's not just a Jeep ride it's an adventure.":punk:

Ageless Stranger 07-08-2010 08:15 AM

I'll do my best to be there. Especially if Inferodoggy is coming. :D Where and when are you guys meeting? Not going to Turkey Bay? I went wheeling on the backroads in LBL the week I bought my Jeep with a guy I work with. Good fun, I'd love to do it with a group of Jeeps. :punk:

InfernoGirl 07-08-2010 08:37 AM

Come on AS! :) We're planning on being there... :) Looking forward to it!

Ageless Stranger 07-08-2010 08:42 AM

Where and when are we meeting?

InfernoGirl 07-08-2010 08:51 AM

9 a.m. Not sure of the meeting place some North thingy by a river.... I'll let you know when I get better details. They are planning on grilling for lunch, so bring some food... :)

Kate 07-08-2010 08:59 AM

oh m'gosh!
We're only a about 3 hours from there....

OBM said we could go.
It would be such a kick to meet you!

InfernoGirl 07-08-2010 09:01 AM

Come Kate! :) I'd love to meet you! We are about 2.5hrs away..... Gonna be an early morning for us... :p But worth the pain and suffering from getting up so early I hope! ;)

Kate 07-08-2010 10:43 AM

I'm seriously considering it!
Like you, it would mean an early morning but what the heck!

Umm... is it supposed to rain this weekend?
If so, I hear it gets slick as snot on a hot rock up there. I've never been, but have been waiting for an excuse.

Where can I get more details?

TR3YNGLER 07-08-2010 11:26 AM

Weather should be perfect... mostly sunny with a high around 89 I believe.

Kate 07-08-2010 11:30 AM

Oh my goodness...
sounds wunnerful!

can you get me a location and time to meet up?

Jeeper 07-08-2010 12:25 PM

Let's Roll

We will meet at the north welcome station near Grand Rivers. I would say about 10:45 or so. Weather is supposed to be great. So let's OIIIO. Hey Warlock do you mind going to the north welcome station instead of Aurora? I will bring charcoal for grilling but we will use grilling pits at one of the stops. Does any one have a large grate in case we have to have something to grill on hopefully not.:D:wavey:

I've never been to the north welcome station. Would it be easier for me from Mayfield to hit the Trace at Fenton and turn north or take the parkway to Grand Rivers and come back in that way?

Jeeper 07-08-2010 04:20 PM

Gilead is located in the barony of New Cannan. It's part of the whole Dark Tower theme I've got going on here. I live near Mayfield, KY.

Ageless Stranger 07-08-2010 07:04 PM

Sam, I do plan on going. I have a Facebook account but I don't log in often. I'll send you a PM later and we can swap phone numbers. I was planning on driving north on the Trace from Fenton but I can meet you guys on the Parkway at 131 if that's ok? (Exit 27?)

Regarding food: Is it a pot-luck kind of thing or do I just need to bring everything for myself and my pax and you're bringing charcoal for everyone? Want to make sure I get the food situation straight.

Kate 07-08-2010 09:41 PM

Is there a simple road number/address I can put into my GPS?

Maybe it's late, and I'm exhausted. Will read this over in the morning.

G'nite all...

Jeeper 07-08-2010 09:42 PM

:)

I havent done one these cookout on the road with Jeepers before but i figure everyone bring what they would want to eat and drink for their own crew whether it is cold or something to cook. I will bring the charcoal and some foil and the grilling utensils. I dont have a large grate but do plan on stopping at a place where there is grilling pits. If yall have any suggestions feel free to speak up.

Parkway at 131 would be great. 10-4 on messaging the #

Jeeper 07-08-2010 09:52 PM

Well Kate i am not sure how those things work but if you can get to Grand Rivers and take hwy 453 straight into the park you will go right to the north welcome station of Land Between the Lakes, it will be on your right not sure of an address. You might try Googlemaps:punk:

Kate 07-09-2010 05:51 AM

Thank you, I think that's what I needed!
I've told two of my friends about this. One of them might make it, the other... I kinda doubt it but you never know.
