Lift recommendations...

I just bought a 97 TJ and ordered a 3 1/2" Rubicon Express Super Flex lift. Ordered 33X12.50r15 General Graber Tires but have read in 4 Wheel & Off Road where many have stacked a 1" body lift and run 35" tires. I realize the TJ will run like a dog on the highway, but what else negative and positive results could I expect? Lift goes on Thursday next week (July 15th), so I gotta make a decision on adding the body lift and going to 35's quickly. HELP!!!!!

What is your gear ratio and what kind of offroading do you plan to do, if any?

when you upgrade to 35s, you really should do alot of other stuff like up grading the brakes and steering. also depending on which rear axle you have, you may have to upgrade that as well, as the stock d35 will not hold up well to 35 inch tires.

If you do 35s, you will definitely want to regear. That is like 20+% larger tires(depending on what you started with). If you are running 3.73 stock gears, you MIGHT Get away with it for a short while. If you are running 3.07s, you will HATE it.

With all that being said, I would suggest saving a couple steps and $$$, and just doing the 35s now if you are even considering it(which you are). Money spent twice is retarded. Might cost a little more now, but in the long run it will save you a lot.

What they said. There's a lot that goes into running 35's besides lift and bigger tires.... bigger lifts bring their own set of mods, and tires bring bigger brakes, diffs, gears, etc... figure out what you need first, then how much are you willing to spend to make it happen, and keep it on/off road.... $$$$

I have a 97 with 4" lift and I run 33's. I could fit the 35's but decided I didn't want to swap or break my D35 rearend.
