Upgrades for radio/audio?
I've had an extremely difficult time finding some very simple information: what is the DIN size of the radio in my 2000 Wrangler, and what are the front and reat speaker sizes? I want to upgrade both of them, and any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

If u go on crutchfield or onlinecarstereo put in make/model/year you should get match up with all the info u need.

in my 04 LJ my front are 4x6 which I replace with 4'' kickers
my soundbar was 5.25'' which I replace with 6'' kickers

Keep in mind once you replace your head unit and speakers you will loose whatever bass you have now unless you screen your speakers with a felt cover and use poly cotton behind your speaker covers.

not a fan of kicker speakers, a few of their subs are nice. x2 on crutchfield.

what i suggest is to find something on crutchfield thats a bit over your spending limit and than go onto ebay and get them for sometimes dirt cheep, but everything is cheaper on ebay.

Regular din stereo fits with use of aftermarket kit-4x6 speakers fit right into front,5 1/4- 6 1/2 speakers easily fit in sound bar!You can do din + 1/2- 2 din head units with expertise in extremities-I have done it-not recommended for beginners or the weak of heart!

My 2002 is a 1.5 din. Just found a replacement stereo myself. Pyle marine grade (water resistant) and UV resistant to fading....CD with anti-shock (minimize skipping in a bumpy Jeep) and port for adding the IPOD/MP3/DVD player. I just wanted something simple, clean, and to do its job without a lot of extra crap I couldn't figure out.

It was extremely hard to find a 1.5 din to fit the stock hole. If you are interested, PM me and I will send you the specs and website.

you can upgrade the front 4x6's to 5.25 with a bracket. i got the bracket from you will have to do some cutting but nothing major if you have the right tools. trust me, if you change to the 5.25's, you'll notice the difference immediately.
