Disc brake swap from 96-98 Grand Cherokee to 2000 wrangler with dana 44

So I was looking to swap out my rear drum brakes on my 2000 Wrangler Sahara with a Dana 44 rear for some disc brakes. My question is can I swap a set of Disc brakes from a 96-98 Grand Cherokee and put them on my 2000 wrangler with a dana 44 rear? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Retainer plates are different for the axle shafts on a drum vs. disc brake set up. You can get the Teraflex disc conversion though.

I don't know if this matters, but a ZJ D44 is the dreaded aluminum D44, bad news. Not sure what all is interchangeable with them.

Stu Olsen has a writeup for exactly what you are doing.
