goblin79 07-23-2010 10:33 PM

lmao ok
thx btw

Ditch the front one too, it improves the bumps so well :D but it does increase bump steer a little but hey Its a Jeep!

nyvulcanman 07-24-2010 06:45 AM

i ditched front and rear trac bars on my jeep and i went with the 2.2 steering stablizer from rough country and have very little bump steer

Vaultzz 07-24-2010 08:51 AM

I have a Skyjacker stabilizer and it doesn't do crap, I might have to look into the Rough country one

You *can* get ride of the track bar if you don't plan on ever going faster than 65 mph on the Freeway. Without the track bar in the rear, get ready for some interesting Ass swinging back and forth at high speed and some serious Death Wobble.

no freeways with in 100 miles of me im in south east ky i hardly ever get it up to 65 let alone over

nyvulcanman 07-25-2010 06:58 AM

i travel the highway every day at 70 to 75 and have no a$$ swing or death wobble and i have no trac bars front or rear

WhiteWillSmiff 07-25-2010 02:59 PM

I removed my rear track bar today & it made a dramatic improvement on my ride quality. I wasn't aware you could remove the front. I do very little highway driving, and rarely go above 65mph. Will this affect anything stability wise?

Vaultzz 07-25-2010 03:23 PM

I havn't felt anything negative after removing the front one as of yet

nyvulcanman 07-25-2010 06:02 PM

i havent felt anything at all since i removed mine when i installed my lift kit and that was a couple of months ago

goblin79 07-25-2010 07:35 PM

good to know i know cjs didnt have them and they run like that for years upon years so mine are now gone

Vaultzz 07-25-2010 07:37 PM

They're only used to keep the axles from moving left and right while driving. but since the Yj and CJ have dual leaf springs they hold the axles in place. Now if you ever go coil over up front then you have to put it back ;)

WhiteWillSmiff 07-25-2010 07:51 PM

Removed the Front track bar, albeit was a bit tough. The test drive was incredible, the PO couldn't stand the jarring ride. It now floats like a Cadillac on the roads. It actually absorbs bumps instead of sending jarring sensations up my spine. If you haven't dropped both of yours yet, I suggest you do it now.

You mean I didn't have to spend my 4th trying to fix this....
