Law Restrictions?

Hey, just wondering if anyone knows what the law is on taking the doors off and having no side mirrors? I live in Connecticut and i have taken the doors off once before and had no problems with the police, but then again i was only driving around for an hour. I have no problem getting relocation brackets, but for now i would like to no if i can ride around with no side mirrors?

I am pretty sure it's technically illegal. That said I do it and have never had trouble. I was stopped for a light out once and he never said anything about the mirrors. But then this is southern Indiana, almost anything goes as far as mods go.

Go to your states DMV webpage and search mirror requirements

The Connecticut DMV doesn't say anything about mirrors...
Any other suggestions

10 minutes on google got this
******Sec. 14-99. Mirror. Motor vehicles with commercial registration to allow others to pass. Each motor vehicle shall be equipped with a mirror attached to and so located and adjusted on such vehicle as to give the operator thereof a clear reflected view of the highway directly to the rear of or on a line parallel to the left side of the body of such motor vehicle. Any person operating a motor vehicle with a commercial registration so constructed or which may be so loaded that the operator is prevented from having a free and unobstructed view of the highway immediately to the rear and at the left side of the same shall, by means of such mirror, make frequent observations of the approach of vehicles from the rear. When operating at below the posted speed limits and when so approached or overtaken, the operator of such motor vehicle shall drive to the extreme right of the traveled way as promptly as safety will permit, giving the vehicle approaching from the rear opportunity to pass. Violation of any provision of this section shall be an infraction.

in california, it is legal to take the doors off, but you still have to have either both external side mirrors, or an external side mirror on the drivers side along with the interior mirror.

Also, now in california, if you block the view out the rear of your interior mirror, then you have to have both external mirrors.

The laws are diffent in each state. As indicated above, you have to go to your local DMV site
